New 🎥 from me: Lately, I’ve noticed companies smashing onto every new feature they claim is “AI-powered”. I set out to find out why this is happening, and wound up in Japan How AI Stole the Sparkles Emoji Enjoy: youtu.be/g-pG79LOtMw

What's up nerds. I've got a Pixel 11 Pro series review for you. TLDR: I love Rambler, Camera Looks and Magic Capture. The other AI features work... sometimes... when you have a scenario that probably only happens to people that live in San Francisco. GIFT LINK: shorturl.at/r8mUd

shorturl.atThe Pixel 11 Pro is a great phone, no thanks to its flashiest new featuresForget HiLight and Proactive Assistance. The Pixel 11 Pro is at its best with focused new tools that actually work.

Recording a podcast during an eclipse with the Waveform team was such a joy. Gonna print these big. Episode out tomorrow!

A lot of consumers are carrying around old iPhones and cheap point-and-shoots from the early aughts to get a simpler, less processed, and (to their eye) better look for their photos. The Pixel 11’s new Camera Looks feature is Google’s response to this growing trend. Read more from @davidimel.com:

New case for the Xteink just dropped. I love makers.

Chris Person@papapishu.bsky.social

The Xteink X4 is underpowered, flawed, has no backlight, and no touch screen. But it's tiny, cheap, magnetically snaps to your phone and has a devout community loves it. It has bloomed into something special thanks to open source firmware. For @aftermath.site aftermath.site/xteink-x4-ch...

My friend @panomicron made the first native M-Mount Anamorphic lens and I just got my copy. Little quick test but holy bananas I am so excited to play with this

I know Apple probably made notifications come in and out from the left like this in iOS 27 because of the new centered Siri touch target, but I really hope they change it before public release. It’s very awkward.

Difficult to describe how amazing it is to work inside my own Panorama environments in the Vision Pro. What an update ❤️‍🔥

The battery life on my MacBook was SO bad on Tahoe and it's back to being incredible on the Golden Gate beta. Same for my iPhone. So happy rn.

HOLY SHIT. Apple just added spatial rendering of Panoramas AND you can now use your own panoramas as spatial scenes for Vision Pro!!!! My panorama wallpaper packs are gonna be so freakin cool now. Davidimel.com/store

Regretful to say I am transitioning from AirMaxxing to Pro Max-ing for WWDC week to test new potential camera features. Trying Whoop to get a good sense of the market / competition Keeping on my Fitbit Air because I’m on a streak with friends Still wearing an Apple Watch for new software week

Utilizes the featured image and title to make social cards. The Mac app has toggles for if you want to include an excerpt or author. It’ll generate 8 landscape and 8 portrait orientation images in 1080p

I've been using the FitBit Air for about a week and I'm working on some longer-form thoughts for later on, but my high-level thoughts right now are: ✅ Light and small form factor is ideal for long-term wear and sleep ✅ Battery life is wonderful. I'm 1-week in and still at 32%

✅ Plugs into all my other health app data like MacroFactor so it has every metric I log ✅ Good auto tracking ❌ Gemini Coach is way too persistent and gives me too many updates ❌ Gemini Coach constantly asks me questions about info it already knows the answer to

❌ Gemini Coach loops questions and information over and over Ultimately what's crazy about this thing is I think I'd actually prefer it for the one-time $99 without the Premium plan. It's a great fitness band but the AI coach just gets in the way. Full thoughts on my blog and Waveform EoW!

With respect to Google, the entire reason people are flocking to old digicams over their phones is because HDR does not equal good. Not everything needs to be a mid-tone. Contrast gives an image pop. I feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills since the iPhone 7

Also FWIW I’m referring to HDR as the ability to show a lot of shadow and highlight detail - not necessarily the modern interpretation which is mostly just “brighter”.

IG blinding you is the latter, but pushing and pulling shadows and highlights from captured data was the original computational photography interpretation of the acronym, and what I am referring to here.

I think Google did a great job with The Android show this year. They’re clearly trying to add personality and style to their execs and they’re doing a great job with it. Additionally pretty much all of these updates are really great. Very big year for Android.

I have a theory that Instagram finally made a proper iPad app because the iPhone Fold/Ultra is going to switch to the iPad version when you open it and Apple requested consistency in experience.
