@davidrlurie.com: "Trump’s open effort to join nations like Iran, North Korea, and China in aiding Putin’s murderous assault on Ukraine is nothing short of disastrous, and it will leave a lasting moral stain on the US." Now that denial is impossible, will Europe mobilize? Will the GOP finally stir?
Russia, Russia, Russia. The Trump/Putin alliance is reaching its apotheosis in a war of annihilation - and Ukraine is the first, but hardly the last, target, as I discuss in PN.
This is true.
"We were taught we won the Cold War. But today, the president of the US openly serves the interests of Russia. We have become...in crucial economic and security matters, a satellite of Moscow." @djrothkopf.bsky.social tells it like it is, and it's tragic. davidrothkopf.substack.com/p/so-as-it-t...

This is posted as if I haven't been doing this since 2015. I realize that if you're new here, or new to politics, or new to this solar system, you might think this is my first midterm with Trump in power, but this is just, um, stupid
Tom’s developing Blue Wave Cold Feet. When Democratic control was theoretical, he was a hardcore Never Trumper. Now that a Blue Wave has begun to form, the old lines of partisan division surface. We’ll see that elsewhere, such as the Bulwark. Against all SCOTUS reforms, expansion of Medicare, etc.

Sometimes, there are posts too stupid to argue with. This is one of them.
One of the big differences between the Soviet Union and the US is the Soviet citizens saw through the lies and the legitimacy of the system collapsed. It's not that Soviets were more intelligent (although they were arguably better educated), it's that American propaganda is far more sophisticated.
