I was a little surprised by a couple of these, and also by the actual numbers. Maybe I've never really paid much attention to the business side of music?

"No matter who wins in November, what happens next will depend on who keeps showing up. Learn from Minnesota organizers: Don't just vote, find your people and join an organization that will still be building people power after the election."
Something to amplify, on 11/4 or any day of the year:
Check out our NEW EPISODE where Sociologist Nicole Bedera joins co-hosts @sugi.bsky.social and Whitney Terrell to talk about Title IX effectiveness and her book, On the Wrong Side: How Universities Protect Perpetrators and Betray Survivors of Sexual Violence. lithub.com/nicole-beder...
The irony of a review panelist misgendering me while discussing my grant application to stage "This Body, This Fruit" again (tour version! Duluth and Rochester!) is a little too on the nose, I think ๐ซฉ

Calendar says I can work all day, no appointments or meetings!
This means:
* I can finish drafting a couple of grant applications ๐ฅณ
* I almost certainly forgot to add something in my calendar and will be frantically rushing somewhere (maybe just Zoom) later ๐ ๐๐ผ
Adjacent to recent thoughts that it won't be long till people start mimicking LLM-speak because they've been reading too much of it.
Some peoples' brains will get sucked into the LLM-training doom loop; the Internet becomes more dangerous than it already is.
Who's working on deprogramming? ๐
i think LLMs are actually cooking people's brains in a vat of molten oil because i just got an email from my boss that is written like he's prompting me. there's no other way to explain why it is written how it is.

GriefโI've seen her at night;
the way she dresses up, my god, she sparkles,
she shimmers. I can't blame you. I'd go to her too.
Who wouldn't want her and then want her again
once they'd felt all the ways
she makes a body shake.

I met a Minnesotan who paid $18,000 out of pocket for dental surgery because Medicare just doesn't cover it.
Your eyes and teeth are part of your body. It's time to expand Medicare to cover vision and dental - then get to work passing Medicare for All.
