October #promosky I'm Daze3x. Here are some of my interests. -JRPGs -Visual Novels -Nintendo -Anime -Writing -Reading -Pokemon and Yugioh TCG -Arknights I've been writing a novel. 3rd image is some art I commissioned of OCs from that. 4th image is other OCs. Follow and let's discuss art.

Xenoblade needs more unique concepts for its unique monsters. Maybe an intelligent gorilla from the moon. It can have a short range Tesla cannon. And a dome shield to protect it from AOE arts.

Baccano! Volume 9 This is easily the weakest volume in the series so far. It shows what happened in Chicago at the same time as the events in volume 8, but it wasn't as exciting or interesting as I'd hoped. Most of the first half is just characters coincidentally running into each other.

There really wasn't much build up to it. A character who was only vaguely alluded to up until now turned out to be a traitor. Instead of shock or excitement, it's like "finally, he appeared." Really weird stuff. There were some good ideas in this volume, like the Christopher and Ricardo friendship.

But some ideas were poorly executed, and much of this volume was a slog. Below Narita's usual standards. I hope the final volume of this current arc can be more satisfying because there is still a ton of potential for what's next. 6/10

Baccano! Volume 9 This is easily the weakest volume in the series so far. It shows what happened in Chicago at the same time as the events in volume 8, but it wasn't as exciting or interesting as I'd hoped. Most of the first half is just characters coincidentally running into each other.

Like many volumes, multiple characters are introduced, but not all of them have the same charisma Narita characters usually have, which made this feel a bit bloated. Character gimmicks don't drive the plot forward that much, so a lot of the character rambling and description was a slog.

The second half is where things got more interesting, as all of the characters motivations intersected in an action packed meeting at a mafia mansion. This part was pretty fun, and was making me excited to see what happens next, but I was a bit deflated by a late volume twist.

I haven't gotten to chapter 17 in Arknights yet and the event period ends today. Is Viy a permanent reward for this chapter? Otherwise I'm gonna miss getting him.

I found out about digital library apps. Unfortunately they don't have many light novels but they do have all of The Apothecary Diaries. I'm not really that interested in the light novels since the anime are great and they'll likely keep making them forever.

On chapter 8 of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter. Getting closer to the end of the game. I think at this rate I'll be able to beat the game in like a week. The game has been pretty brutal for the most part, but has gotten significantly easier with access to OP accessories and quartz.

I have this urge to get back to writing my story with Amaru as the main character even though I'm unsure of what the best format to write the story is. Like the story is meant to be a game, but creating a 100 hour JRPG on my own just isn't feasible

As much as I'm enjoying writing Quetzal and my novel series "A Hell of Our Own", I really do feel that Amaru is the best character I've come up with and that would become clear if I was able to bring my vision for her story to life.

I will say, one advantage of a VN format is that it would be easier to write chapters about the side characters, which would need long flashbacks or entire gameplay segments revolving around them. Especially important for characters like Micaiah. Also makes the antagonist backstory easier to tell

A visual novel seems the most plausible. Obviously it would still cost money to make, but it seems like a format that might work for this story if I make some tweaks. I also feel like I need to actually make progress or risk losing interest and I really don't want that to happen.

Generative AI really is a form of brain rot that allows people to offload any life friction to the plagiarism machine instead of doing what creatives have done for all of time, compromise or find a new methodology. I swear, every time I see an example of "useful AI", its dumb shit like this.

John Michonski@john.gamesline.net

Reading this Famitsu interview Uchikoshi did and it seems that the reason the Crash Keys game was canceled was because *Uchikoshi* wanted to use AI, not the publisher. This snippet is driving me nuts. Makes all the posturing with Hundred Line read extremely shallow.

Crazy that he can argue with Twitter nazis over gender but can't communicate to his employees well enough that he thinks he needs an AI machine that won't get upset. It's genuinely so pathetic.

I wanna try Final Fantasy Resonance and Tales of Eternia Remastered but there is too much for me to do. Fuck.

I've been slacking on reading as of late, but I wonder if I can still make it to 25 books completed by the end of the year. I finished Baccano volume 8 in 2 days, and I'm already past half way through volume 9. If I binge the whole series, I can pass 25.

But I also kinda wanna read other things. Other light novels I own and some classic fiction. I'm also hoping next year I can get to 50 books by the end of the year, which would be a surprising feat if I could do it.

Reminder that advertising and editorial are completely siloed from each other at ANN. I'm as disappointed as anyone else to see this on the feed.

I'm starting to believe the single most important political issue of our time is just punishing Republicans, or anyone in power who abuses it to do evil. Nothing else matters if assholes can commit the most heinous of crimes and get away with it every time.

Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.

A RED STAR SHINES OVER BRAZIL! Lula is reelected! Brazilians managed to mobilize and beat Bolsonaro, Trump, Meta, Google, Netanyahu, media oligarchs, corrupt judges, fascism, imperialism, apathy and hatred! May this victory bring hope to all our comrades fighting across the world! We can beat them

This Brazil election interference shit is nerve-wracking. I'd prefer if another country didn't fall into diarrhea forever. It's been happening too often recently.

For the last Halloween skeb request for my OCs, I have Arezu as a ninja by skeb.jp/@shifumame0354 They are a genius when it comes to knowledge and computers. Athletics is not their strong suit, so here is them clumsily dropping the ninja knife.

Baccano! Volume 8 This volume follows up on the plot points set up on the previous few, and damn was it fun to read. A majority of the volume takes place on Alcatraz. I feel like making a volume take place in such a confined space would limit its potential, but this is Narita we are talking about.

There are also parts that take place outside of Alcatraz simultaneously, so there is just as much complexity as you'd expect from this series. There is also some crazy twists that made me wanna read the next volume as soon as possible, which I'm currently doing now.

The end of the volume reveals this is only half the story, so just like the train incident, I'll need to read the next volume to piece the whole thing together. It was a breezy read with a lot less filler words than previous volumes, so I have no complaints. Great stuff. 9/10
