The next party of the center-right will likely come from disaffected centrist Democrats. And that's *okay*. A lot of liberal former Republicans are now Democrats, too. As long as we agree on the Constitution and its protections, plenty of room for throwing elbows and fighting over what's best.

Don't know if Trump or associates asked Zuckerberg to disrupt No Kings; or if Zuckerberg saw it as a chance to curry favor with Trump; or if Zuckerberg so believes in Trumpist authoritarianism that he decided to help out. But it's urgent to stop this from happening again--e.g., on election day.

There is absolutely no viable path forward for this country that doesn’t hinge on extreme accountability for everyone involved in this administration. They’re going to whine about politicization and credulous media types will echo them, but the thing is, they’ve committed tons of obvious crimes!

I do not think an exec branch led by a man who thinks he is entitled to treat federal agents as an arm of his firm, refers to Somali Americans as “garbage” and has said racist things specifically about Omar is capable of neutrally applying the law to her, to put it mildly apnews.com/article/ilha...

Is there a cleverer way that Ukraine could have hit back at Trump doing a dirty oil deal with Putin to help him with gas prices in the midterms than turning off the army of Russian propagandists posing as heartland Americans with concerns about trans socialists?

What a dirty effing trick!

At a time when the most influential leaders of the U.S. need to stand up loudly and clearly for the rule of law, they are leading the charge in the opposite direction. But not Jack Smith. Kudos to him for continuing to be a much needed voice of clarity.

Jack Smith: "History teaches that the rule of law is rarely destroyed all at once. It's often weakened by attacks on the institutions and the public servants sworn to uphold it. Since January 2025, we have witnessed precisely such an effort."

🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:

I have to admit I have said speech and debate clause before...

Allison Gill@muellershewrote.com

Katie Britt annoys the shit out of me. She called toll records “tolling records”. She says “Artic” instead of “Arctic”. She calls the speech or debate clause the “speech and debate clause.” She accuses Smith of illegal evidence when no judge found that. And she went over her time.

A day later, still no explanation from Sen Angela Alsobrooks (for whom I've voted & canvassed) on why she was the only Senator not to vote on resolution to end Trump's Iran war. The vote was 49-50. If she'd voted, she'd have forced Vance to own this fiasco. Here's her autoreply to me:

Sen Angela Alsobrooks (my own Senator, for whom I've canvassed) was the only Senator to play hooky on one of the most important votes of her career: Whether to terminate Trump's war on Iran. Why? She won't say. Even though she put out press statements on 3 other topics today:

This is the way. I know it’s a delicate balance between covering legitimate public interest stories and First Amendment concerns, but it’s about time the press showed some balls.
