I love that AI companies are all like "we just have a marketing problem" when regular people are having AI experiences like this all over the place every single day

Gotta love the “or stocks” part. Like Gemini realized its first answer was nuts so it tried to wedge in a better one.

“Everyone should be allowed to carry a gun for their safety but the government can murder you in the street if you have a gun” is an incredible endpoint for the conservative moment

One of the funniest / stupidest parts of the Influencer Administration is that he’s also constantly screwing with broadcast TV policy as though everyone isn’t actually watching YouTube all day

Since his appointment, RFK Jr. has pursued a brutal vision of American health that several experts liken to a sort of eugenics. Kennedy has made it clear that certain deaths are acceptable or even preferable to a world where every child is vaccinated. Read more: www.theverge.com/health/66136...

Today, @lujan.senate.gov and I pressed Chairman Carr on the need for an independent FCC. Carr said he doesn’t think the FCC is an independent agency and has now immediately removed any reference of the FCC being an “independent agency” from it's website. This is all a big scam.

We're over four years into Windows 11 and largely the only noteworthy updates are the additions of removed Windows 10 features. Maybe if Microsoft wasn't so stubbornly trying to turn it into an "agentic OS" this wouldn't be a problem. I haven't heard a single person ask for that in conversation.

Windows 11 is finally getting a Windows 10 feature that was removed when Windows 11 launched in 2021. Calendar appointments are coming back to the notification center soon

This is a $40 streaming stick that strictly runs web apps, performs worse than cheaper options, and lacks key apps and features. I feel bad for anyone who buys this over basically anything else. The regular Stick 4K routinely sells for less on sale, and Walmart's $20 Onn 4K runs circles around this.

Amazon is only reinforcing this argument by deleting negative reviews of the product. You can't make this stuff up. Shoutout to AFTVnews. bsky.app/profile/aftv...

Well, today is the (official) end of the road for Windows 10. It's had its fair share of flaws, but it really became a rock-solid OS as time went on, only for Windows 11 to walk back on that stability. I can't ever forget how much of a lifeline it was to older PC hardware. You won't see that again.

This is easily the worst thing that could happen to Android as a platform. It's fine to tighten security, but not to the extent where it eliminates the main benefit for enthusiasts, as it's been since the beginning. It's also practically a surveillance tactic when you factor in the identification.

Google will verify Android developers distributing apps outside the Play store

In all seriousness, talk about a masterclass on how to kill your business. He not only alienated his main customer base, but he staunchly supported a campaign that set out to take down the whole American EV market from the beginning.

Could you imagine the response if a democratic president said they didn’t know if they had to uphold the Constitution? How fast would the articles of impeachment be drawn ? 20 minutes at the most

I understand that businesses need to make strategic decisions, but this is just plainly unethical. You're not improving privacy or security if your intent is just to make an external site *sound* dangerous to your benefit. That angle that is often brought up is not valid here.

Apple hates iOS app developers. They were dumb enough to write it out clearly in slack. They go out of their way to make your life worse.

Currently restoring this 20 year old Dell Latitude D610 to its former glory. This thing is a tank. My mom had used it up until 2015 and it was previously running Linux (elementaryOS 0.3.1, to be specific). It makes a nice machine with impressive I/O for messing around with legacy Windows software.

Saw this strange change when using YouTube Music today where the release year replaced song duration in the queue. Not even ten minutes later I saw a post on Reddit about it and the YTM Product Manager confirmed it's a bug.

Gemini isn't exactly giving me much confidence in its ability to replace Google Assistant when that eventually happens. Results are inconsistent, and even doing something as simple as turning on a light seems to take a lot longer. I'm curious how this transition plays out.
