This is one reason why Republican Senators won’t #RestoreACATaxCredits. We “can’t afford it” because of the OPTIONAL Iran war, tax cuts for billionaires, and oopsie tariff refunds that no voter ever voted for. Why do we pay taxes again? #MomSky
Some positive energy news amidst all the shameful fossil fuel drilling activity in the US.
Non-hydro renewables (primarily wind and solar) are on track to pass gas this year as the second largest source of electricity generation globally. The rapid over the past 10 years is pretty remarkable! Hat tip to Michael Liebreich for the plot idea.

I wanted to share my thoughts on the proposed OMB rule change that would radically transform federal grant-making into an overtly partisan political process. It's highly alarming, and would be devastating for American science (among many other things).

It's impossible to respect billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Tim Cook as they brown-nose Donald Trump over and over again, while turning their backs on the American public who made them wealthy. www.seattletimes.com/business/tim...
apple.news/ApXZ5ho7JTuG... This reminds me of Stephen Markley’s book The Deluge, which included extreme flooding in the US and Bangladesh (if memory serves). This water shortage and resulting political unrest would have fit his book perfectly.

Shout out to MoveOn.org! I joined their event this morning to call voters in swing states to urge them to tell their senators to vote no on Russell Vought's confirmation as head of OMB. MoveOn patches them through to their senator's phone line if they agree. 40K people did; glad I participated!

I haven't yet figured out how I can make a difference in our new reality of hatred, greedy, ugly billionaires, and the Trump regime's push toward autocracy. But I did one small thing by creating an account on libro.fm and purchasing my first audiobook there. Bye Audible.com and f* Jeff Bezos!

President Joe Biden has pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, using the extraordinary powers of his office to guard against potential “revenge” by Trump. apnews.com/article/bide...
XC skiied the Icicle Creek trail today! The day was all sparkling white snow, blue skies, jagged mountains, and ponderosa pines. It really lifted my spirits. The trail is maintained by skileavenworth.com
