Friday vibes. What a week!

I rarely travel, but would some of these airport security line issues move quicker if more people checked their bag? I would rather spend 30 minutes at a baggage carousel then 4 hours in a security line, but I rarely travel by air, so not sure I am assessing the situation correctly.
