Don't know much about history Don't know much biology Don't know much about a science book Don't know much about the French I took Don't know much about geography Don't know much trigonometry Don't know much about algebra Don't know what a slide rule is for

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

My associate told me today that part of my brief was obviously AI. It was not. It was all me. Apparently normal people don't wtite a page and a half tangent on Palsgraf and insinuate that OC slept through torts.

Random Sunday thought: The increase in parents whining about their children cutting them off is partially fueled by how easy it is to communicate. A generation, you could move to a different time zone, there were no cell phones, you could even not even not have an answering machine.

There was no email, no texting. Long distance travel was expensive. No social media where someone else could see what you are up to. You could just live your life and never talk to your parents. They wouldn't know what was happening in yours. And that was just normal.

My great great grandma got on a ship headed for N America and never talked to her mom bank in the Shtetl again. Maybe they could send letters every couple of months. There was no cutting off, just geography.

This country hates children

Bellevue Police Capt John Stuck: “We get kids that once that school resource officer has put the gloves on, or they see that the gloves are on, they immediately comply without even touching them or doing anything. Which again, that’s a complete success for us.” Hmm, where have I heard this before?

after statehood we'll have to rename the airport after someone who isn't awful and while duke ellington is probably the most sensible pick i think "fugazi international" really rolls off the tongue

It's that time period before election day when I call all my family and friends who actually have congressional representation to make sure they are voting for the right people.

An abuser and enabler going on video to deny it happened when there are court records? So blatant the NRO calls out out? Damn

Almost, almost feel sorry for the AUSAs this morning.

Trump slams Judge Reyes, who’s handling the challenge to his weird plans for the East Potomac Golf Course, as a “crazed lunatic . . . maybe insane.”

In early 2025, I assumed the Trump regime would delete the Department of Justice’s press releases and other statements related to more than 1,000 Jan. 6 cases. So I downloaded them. We’ve now made them available to the public with a search tool. They can’t erase history. jan6memoryproject.org

Every time there's a school shooting, I keep thinking of this friend's experience.

Deb Golden@debgoldendc.bsky.social

I think I've told this story here before, but I'll keep telling it until it's no longer relevant. A friend was sent to China for a couple months for a work assignment. After about a month, his Chinese colleagues decided they trusted him enough to start asking questions about American life.

Ohio’s Cincinnati Public Schools is the first district in the nation to own and operate a parking lot where families experiencing homelessness can go to at night and sleep in their cars, and has served more than 300 people since opening this past spring ohiocapitaljournal.com/2026/10/14/c...

It's rare to see this much confidently incorrect in one short clip. Elect better, Maryland.

Republican Rep. Andy Harris incorrectly told a reporter they were breaking the law as the reporter and others recorded an exchange with him last night. Harris had just wrapped up a debate with Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz.

Holy shit I must have heard this monologue a thousand times. I think I know it by heart, at least mostly. And this just gave me goosebumps. Fucking amazing

This is my neighborhood. I've walked past NG in Starburst Plaza, by their tank, looking hot as hell in full uniforms. While the usual addicts nod out on the benches. They prowl the residential streets in groups, not doing anything. I haven't seen them pick up one piece of trash even.

The only reporting of Phase 2 I’ve seen was buried in a Stars and Stripes story: “Troops will . . begin transitioning to the next phase. Though few details were shared, the next step includes transitioning into neighborhoods such as Anacostia and Trinidad.” www.stripes.com/theaters/us/... 10/

I don't dismiss the possibility that Rep Omar is doing some criming of the must be urgently stopped variety. My opinion of all politicians is low. But, I also was not born yesterday and that's not where my bets lie against this rancid from the top administration.

Those of you who are angry and feeling hopeless about the lack of immediate contempt findings and sanctions in the golf course case (the hearing for which is still ongoing) might benefit from reading the transcript of the July 2nd hearing. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Woke up today feeling all better. Moral of the story, go get your seasonal shots (and rsv if you are of age) bc too many people are idiots and it's going to be a bad flu/Covid season. One day is nothing compared to how bad any of those can be.

Deb Golden@debgoldendc.bsky.social

Last night, I got my Covid, flu, and rsv vaxes. Then I went to the gym this morning. I feel like absolute hell and I still know it's better than any of those diseases.
