I came upon this game by happenstance but the timing's right since the demo's out on Steam and it's Halloween. Trying to survive stranded on a freezing planet where monsters seek me out for warmth and staying alive means managing all that seems fascinatingly disconcerting.

Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (then maybe Sunday even though it's November) we'll be taking a short break from Like A Dragon to be playing surreal and horror type games, including cult classic Baroque, and the demo for Thermocline. Other possibilities might include a return for WORLD OF HORROR.

First up, I already made an individual post about Thermocline, but this was the first demo I played this Next Fest and like... I dunno man I might have found my favourite right off the bat. The game is drowning in atmosphere, and is doing a lot with the turn based RPG premise. Big reccomend.

This demo absolutely blew me away. From the environments to the tiny details like the little comments Eve makes, or brief descriptions that pop up when you encounter enemies, to the UI surrounding temperature... The "Observation" options in combat are so cool. Man. MAAAAAAAAAN I loved this.

Played this demo. It's quite short, but that has no bearing on its quality; I was absolutely blown away. Atmosphere is STUNNING and the RPG mechanics mixed with temperature management was so engaging. The UI, environments, and the mystery of it all was just so so good. PLEASE play this demo.
