It’s honestly really triggering for me that once again, in the aftermath of people finding out a man who is a beloved public figure committed sex crimes in his past, the conversation has to immediately shift into how and when the guy can return to the status quo he was in

I don’t know what restorative justice looks like in a case like this. I don’t know what it means to hold someone accountable. But I do know how painful it is to see someone admit to doing sexual violence against someone else and a crowd of people immediately rush to minimize it as a youthful mistake

I was seeing well respected accounts on here, less than an hour after he admitted it, trying to lecture others on how problematic it is to be upset towards him about it and how it’s best to move on and believe he’s truly better now and like… we just found out! Nobody has had time to process it yet!

I don’t know. I don’t fucking know. Right now I just think it’s more important to keep things focused on how systemically fucked it is that someone can admit to sexual abuse and deal with only a semester suspension versus whether a guy should still be able to make online content without pushback

I feel like this is a thing that happens when minorities/Outsiders™️ embrace their opposition to the expectations of normative culture but then just... live there. It becomes memes, and the memes become their own rigid stereotypes. this is not actual diversity, just more boxes

i dislike the whole project but his paintings have always overwhelmingly struck me as NAIVE in a way that he doesnt seem to intend-- he's treating the illo as lowbrow and authorless and making a joke of putting it into Fine Art, but all i can see is man this fucker had no grasp of drawing at all lol
