Like everyone else, I’ve been swimming in scary AI articles all week made worse by the deep feeling there’s no stopping any of this. But just an idea…what if we require going forward all AI MUST be the virtual en-mindment (yep just made that up) of Kurt Vonnegut? #AI #KurtVonnegut. Could work.

So I too had never heard of the song Choosin’Texas and so I went and listened to it and now I would like Rolling Stone to move me to the list of people that do not like the song Choosin’Texas.

Yes, but the have Dems pledged to make Trump go away. I’ll take it!

President Donald Trump pledged to send every American adult $5,000 if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections. The promise, made at the GOP's midterm convention in Dallas, could cost over $1 trillion and would require congressional approval.

Olivia Rodrigo raised $20 million for women's well-being with a benefit show featuring a women-led lineup. Her show raised $10 million and Melinda French Gates pledged another $10 million. Rodrigo said the festival's artists and activists give her hope despite the “regression of women's rights."

nbcboston.comOlivia Rodrigo's festival is uniting women and girls behind nonprofits promoting their well-beingFew superstars are better suited to bridge the gap between Gen Z and nonprofits, which have struggled to build relationships with younger donors.

I discovered the term “AI winter” thinking it meant the period of upheaval & disruption caused by rapid & cataclysmic change (like nuclear winter but instead of waiting in bunkers we’re all out of work and forced to talk to robots) “What a useful phrase!” I thought. But it’s just this BS.

Reminder: everyone on American soil, whether they were born here or not, has the right to due process. Here’s everything you need to know.

Plans to build the world’s first commercial octopus farm in Gran Canaria, Spain, have been scrapped, in a major victory for octopuses and the global animal welfare movement. Octopuses are highly intelligent, curious and solitary animals, making them fundamentally unsuited to intensive farming. 🐙

Can you spot what’s wrong with this ad? New tools for everything - AI tools, ecosystem work tools, faster, more collaborative, realtime tools…and yet the weakest link is still just taking a moment to communicate clearly. Adjust WHAT about the highlights??? Brighter? Darker? Warner? Cooler? FFS!

forbes.comMusk Suggests He’ll Fund An Alternative ‘Odyssey’ Or Make One With GrokElon Musk, the loudest critic of “The Odyssey,” suggested in a post on X he would make his own adaptation of Homer’s epic poem using Grok technology.

They don’t even need to put in that much work since they’re always drooling about how AI is going to churn out thousands of Oscar quality films in the blink of an eye. Maybe Grok is working on his own version right now.

This puts Manhattanhenge to shame.

The "zero shadow" phenomenon is only true for perfectly vertical straight-sided objects, but it's trippy to look at. The State Museum of Natural and Cultural History of Hawai'i ran a contest to come up with a name & landed on 'Lāhainā' which means "cruel sun" in Hawai'ian.

The other kid got 18 months in jail. The autistic kid is confined to a mental hospital indefinitely, until someone decides he’s “no longer a danger”. That’s madness.

The Clearwater, fighting the good fight. Makes you wonder what the government is afraid of when they pull the Clearwater out. The people, united, will never be defeated.

I escaped the heatwave to see Disclosure Day and it was so bad I was sure I was in the wrong theater for the first 15 minutes of the film. I actually checked my ticket to be sure.

Thank you, Justice Elena Kagan, for responding to the SCOTUS decision to deport Haitian refugee families back to a place we know is unsafe, by adding Trump’s vile, racist, exact words into the official case record.

Since both Watergate and our nation’s anniversary are hot topics this week, here’s my 1976 Bicentennial Coloring Book from when I was 6. Starts with Christopher Columbus & ends with this lovely depiction of the Watergate tapes. I wish they had a G. Gordon Liddy page - woulda colored that mustache.

Tech CEOs in 2026: ‘We spent billions to hopefully one day have an ai that can make people feel like it’s portraying real emotions for tv, but we need way more money to do it’ Jim Henson in 1955: ‘yeah so I stuck some ping pong balls to a bit of old felt and called it Kermit’

Wu-Tang Clan needs to release another album that only had one copy and charge half a trillion dollars for it. You know Musk wouldn’t be able to resist that flex.

“That is the horror of Springsteen’s catalog. It keeps aging well because America refuses to age better.” Nails it. Though gotta give credit to Jesse Wells as a young artist who is loud about the state of things.

i think we should be clear that just because the astronauts did not immediately declare the moon haunted, does not mean it is not haunted it may mean that the astronauts are now themselves haunted have we prepared for this eventuality and if so how

Again, I don’t see how you can read this as anything other than Trump trying to normalize the idea of using nuclear weapons

Guys you really expect the same people who can't stand up to trump about their shoe sizes to invoke the 25th amendment???

Trump’s unbridled assholery is causing judges to take the tone your parents would use if you demanded to take their car after driving yours into the pool.

At Kennedy Space Center astronauts have to take elevators to the top of launch pad towers in order to enter their space capsules before lift off. This is the elevator panel at Pad 39A.
