We were told by everyone around us, including the “strangers” in and out of his room at MSKCC hospital in NYC, that last weekend, of the profound love they saw and felt between us. Derek was / is my home. He is extraordinary💜

But I am grateful he is now at peace and no longer suffering. I have peace that nothing was left unsaid between us.

Derek asked me to reach out and express his thanks to all the kind and caring souls who shared this space with him, those who supported him and encouraged him. You all meant so much to him. This past year has been relentless for us. He was the bravest of men…
