Enlightened living is quality living. It also requires perpetual defense from those that work to destroy it, no matter our current age -

I thought this is pretty interesting, but limited. Making concrete requires a lot of fresh water & heat, usually in the form of natural gas flame, to bake clinker cement. I always considered concrete 'natural', because it doesn't use asphaltene from crude oil, and lasts much longer than asphalt.

Mother Jones@motherjones.com

It’s the second-most used material on Earth. It’s an environmental disaster. And it’s falling apart all around us. Meet concrete.

Yet, the article is just a diatribe of how concrete = bad. What are other options? Dirt roads again? Roman cobblestones? For 8-1/2 billion people? The real solution is less people - either via our destruction of our habitat, or we stop replicating.

Sorry, not sorry. 3,871% markup is billionaire ball. We've come to Rollerball 1975 ---> 2026 John Houseman is Russell Vought 1/2

On who betrayed Ukraine and America, Trump or Musk, or Musk at Trump's order, to quote Churchill we can ascertain later which was the Monkey and which was the Organ Grinder

Klobuchar has been a pol in my state for a long time. She is hyper-smart, graduating at the top of her class. So much so that she is seen to scheme her moves without genuine concern for constiuents. Reminds me of Bill Clinton. Amiable, aimless Amy. 1/2 minnesotareformer.com/2026/10/22/a...

minnesotareformer.comAmy Klobuchar has already told us who she is • Minnesota ReformerTwo months after taking office as Hennepin County Attorney in 1999, Amy Klobuchar rearranged the furniture in the office’s reception area. The next day, the furniture had been moved back. Klobuchar mo...

It is also quite odd to 'retire' from U.S. Senator to run for State Governor. It's considered a demotion in politics. This whole situation is odd. And yet, I voted for her yet again because the R's have disintegrated as viable contenders. 2/2

"It is no longer relevant if you run a proper country—like, say, Canada. Democracy, the rule of law are ghosts in the wind. The only relevant parameters are: who has what, who wants what and who gets more. 2/2

This may be the natural, feudal order of the human beast; the last 300 years may just have been an exception." Back to dog-eat-dog, survival of the most vicious, is devolution at its worst. 3/3

I've been preparing to launch a manifesto that men & women can't get along or communicate, and should lead separate lives. This data point made me stop and reflect ⤵️ Granted, Sweden & U.S. are different cultures. Couldn't find a U.S. study. 1/2 pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

Other studies of REPORTED violent crimes show app. 80% are committed by men. But it includes repeat offenders. I want to know how many men are violent offenders in the entire population of men. This study SUGGESTS that it is extremely small. Psychopaths! I guess I don't feel so bad, now. 2/2

I'm sorry to those who are forced to put up with election constraints solely by which state you ended up living in. And thank you so much for perservering. We clearly have never been "united" states. Ever.

Democracy Docket@democracydocket.com

Voters are facing 2.5-hour lines and 45-minute walks to get to the polls. Why? Because Republicans slashed early voting sites. Make a voting plan, bring snacks and water and vote as early as you can. Follow Democracy Docket for the latest news ahead of the midterms.

appears similar. Read the 1st article. Klobuchar is a shape-shifter depending on the situation. To a fault. Amiable, aimless, go-along to get-along Senator Amy is all of a sudden prosecutorial fraud cleanup Amy. C'mon. The Republican candidates are complete jokes, so at least there's that. 2/2

"An early warning that Trump’s monetary promises should not be trusted came at that same 2024 St. Cloud rally where Trump promised no cuts to Social Security, when Trump stiffed the town with $209,000 in event fees. Yet his administration has managed to wreck the country’s finances worse than 2/3

Truly, @hcrichardson.bsky.social has worked daily for 7+ years to help us get through this. She deserves the U.S. Medal of Freedom if we pull out of this. What a patriot! From this USN Vet.

Mother Jones@motherjones.com

@hcrichardson.bsky.social says America needs to hold corrupt officials accountable if we want to move forward as a country. She explains what that might look like if Democrats retake Congress in the midterm elections on @revealnews.org's “More To The Story.” Listen: https://tinyurl.com/spkmzstr

Yep. That's the plan. Here is the actual death committee they projected from the ACA. And their cuts to the ACA, don't forget that. And god knows what they're doing to Medicare. All so psychopaths can take more money for their piles.

Vote early in person. Then rest, don't stress over outrage porn thrown at us. And then be ready to defend the election results. It ain't over 'till it's over (Yogi Berra) ⤵️

Here's what I am attempting to counsel - STOP overreacting to their flooding our zone & focus onf figuring out how to stop this instead. "Politicians like Donald Trump use the anger and backlash against them in their favor. Here's how not to respond." greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item....

greatergood.berkeley.eduThree Ways to Resist the Political Outrage MachinePoliticians like Donald Trump use the anger and backlash against them in their favor. Here's how not to respond.

A primary example is how our folks around Minneapolis responded to the ICE attacks. They used the signal app to organize reports to counter with people (until it was discovered ICE gained access somehow). No, it didn't get rid of ICE, but it did hamper them. Picking @ overwhelming force is doable.

I was trying to explain how constant outrage damages us & harms our ability to effect positive change. Because I'm a retired engineer who has learned minimal psychology for managers, I offer professional advice attached. We don't do any good by seething. greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item...

greatergood.berkeley.eduCan You Stay Calm in a Time of Outrage? The world doesn’t need more anger, however righteous. It needs people who can hold on to moral clarity and stay true to their values.

"Outrage...comes at a cost. Physiologically, outrage taxes our bodies. Cognitively, it narrows our perception, distorting what we see and hear and what we believe about others."

Please vote now, in-person. Then rest and prepare to support our results. ⤵️ "Though not acted on, the request shows how the Trump administration has tried to use the agency for its own ends while draining it of resources for one of its critical missions: protecting the nation’s voting systems."
