OTD 49 years ago at 1500hrs GMT my first Manchester United game kicked off. From that point I have been enraptured, enraged, elated and enervated by them. Sometimes all at once. An unconditional love supreme #MUFC

The can has been kicked down the road I see. What in under fuck is that kind of decision? How is he going to motivate a bunch of men that don’t seem to a) give a shit about the club or the manager b) know that he is now a zombie c) get their wages no matter what pish they serve up?

Despite the dire performance on the pitch, it was great to see how a huge amount of United fans turned on the ownership on Sunday. There are many reasons why good players have gone bad when they go to United and I don’t know the answer, but leaking roofs and changing rooms don’t help (imho natch)

I don't think I ever watched an episode of Star Trek (science fiction isn't my thing), but I thought casting a Russian while the Cold War was still raging, to make the point that humans would get along better in the future, was a lovely touch.

The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

Since his ennoblement in Boris Johnson’s 2023 resignation list, Tees Valley regional mayor Lord (Ben) Houchen has claimed more than £25,000 in tax-free daily “attendance” allowances from the House of Lords for 73 days when he hasn’t voted, spoken or performed any recorded parliamentary activity.

I’ve put out the bin (blue) washed and dried the dishes, brought in the washing, sorted that and now it’s time for the scratcher, a tad jet lagged after falling back an hour and then gaining an hour last night. Hopefully I can now ramble to myself until I fall asleep….

Pal just asked me what I think caused the biggest problem at Man Utd since Sir Alex announced his retirement. For me it’s no contest, the loss of David Gill was catastrophic and we’ve never recovered from that. Woodward and now this bunch of cowboys have caused immense damage.

Brian Kerr - the ex Ireland manager - said on Irish tv as United got tore another new one at Como, that players that go to United seem to get worse. They never improve.

Hopefully we will also be spared that huddle carry on now, with no Bruno telling every one what he’s having for his dinner, starter, mains and side and dessert.
