So it turns out that being an undercover journalist in Reform is dead easy… Just stand in the vicinity of a Reform councillor, turn on your kit, and they are so desperate to spout filth your job is done. Just so long as you aren’t female, girls don’t pass the ‘vibe’ check apparently.

Made the rookie error of having a few glasses of wine earlier. That combined with my usual 9.30pm bedtime means I’m already struggling to focus… 10.20pm is too late but it’s got to be worth the Herculean effort.

Reform Party UK Exposed@reformexposed.bsky.social

Just a police reminder that the 90-minute documentary, Undercover: A Year in Reform, will air on ITV this evening at 10:20pm.

First sentence was all that was needed and is spot on. The final 2 lines that Jim has written are debatable, but then I’m a pragmatist with no party scarf tied round my neck.

Useful reminder as to why Brexit happened. It also explains why we will never be allowed to rejoin, unless you vote Green in England, SNP in Scotland or Plaid Cymru in Wales.

“There’s this famous 80-year old we need to you to bring in.” Grim Reaper: “Done!” “Hold on, not that one. This one appeared in Home Alone 2.” Grim Reaper: “Done!” “Would you please stop and just listen to the rest of the instructions?”

The ‘credible threats’ Farage was afraid of was standing next to other candidates that were embarrassing, and those candidates saying embarrassing things. So Democracy and Free Speech then. Farage is scared of Democracy and Free Speech.

How does it work constitutionally if one was to be appointed to Northstead/Chiltern Hundreds and was then subsequently reelected before a new steward was appointed? Seeing as such an appointment disqualifies you from being an MP would you be immediately disqualified again?

Farage resigning as an MP means he will become Steward of the Manor of Northstead, aka the bottom of Peasholm Lake in Scarborough. Luckily it’s a deprived seaside town. So he’ll never visit.

A strangely warm obit for a man who was almost universally unloved. Hopefully his pubs outside of London now also relax & thrive under his son (who already ran the London pubs) and I can finally have my first Sam Smith pint in decades.

In accordance with ancient tradition, our next Prime Minister is announced to the nation while standing between a furry and a man with a bin on his head.

A fella just leaned over to me at the counter of a very busy gift shop at an extremely busy North Sea facing Scarborough and told me, dead pan, that he was only at the beach because Keir Starmer has told everyone to stay away from the beach today to allow space for small boats to land.

In the month since I gave up on Facebook for being a pile of trash that made me unhappy, I’ve had more emails from Facebook telling me about things that my real friends have posted than what have appeared in my news feed in the past year.

Being in an area that has never had local elections at the same time as the rest of the country makes you feel like a wallflower. I’m paradoxically both apathetic and also feeling like I’m being excluded from the gossip.

Timely reminder that you can own a nice car and still have a blue badge. I employ staff and earn money. I remarkably manage this despite not being able to stand for any length of time because *shock* that isn’t a requirement of being a boss.

So both our shop’s tills use a connected EPOS system with connections to all online marketplaces and Royal Mail. Because internet connection is so important we made sure we had a back up 4G connection with our broadband. Both supplied by Vodafone 🤦‍♀️ It’s been a difficult afternoon.

One of my nominations for Room 101 would be superfluous paper/card on greetings cards. Print the message on a single bit of card that folds once please & I don’t need the greeting on a separate piece of paper. If I give you card like that, it’s a subtle hint that you are not beloved.

Hubby only just learned that when in a restaurant women always sit in the seat where they feel safest. Commented that in our row of tables all the women were in the seat with their back to the wall and didn’t know why. Married nearly 20 years and we still live in different universes.

Fortune Cookie Hack; Add the words ‘in bed’ to the end of your fortune for an amusing ending to your takeaway. Even better let all the adults know the rules and you don’t even need to say it out loud - that way your kids will be confused as to why you are sniggering at your fortune.

If you haven’t already done so turn autoplay OFF in settings. Zoomed in & clipped video of Charlie Kirk doing the rounds and you will see EVERYTHING in horrendous detail in the time it takes to scroll past.

Just spoken to a US based customer (I’m UK) confused as to why their repeat order shipped this week is held at the border and going to cost money to release. Yes, it is going to cost more than last month’s identical order. No. However much you say it is, it’s absolutely not our fault.

Going to a gig but not able to go as part of a group because I’m disabled is one of the many ‘perks’ of my life. Want to go with my husband and daughter but one will only be able to sit with me and the other will have to sit or stand alone. They can’t swap through the evening.

Are you fucking kidding me? He wanted to leave! He provided fuck all opposition to Brexit. This is no better than Reform promising mad shit but the difference is, unlike JC, Reform can win, even under FPTP but especially with the emergence of Corbyn’s party. He just keeps helping Farage.

So for the last 24 hours we have been harassed by this seagull. From 5am yesterday it has been repeatedly tapping on the window with its beak, or staring coldly at me while I go about my day. Alfred Hitchcock vibes.

If you support the right of UK millionaires to live in any other country to avoid tax, you should support the right of workers from any other country to live in the UK and pay tax. At least be consistent.

Look at how stark this: Reform has clear leads among voters who have the lowest life satisfaction, while Labour is ahead among those with the v.highest life satisfaction.Further evidence rise of Reform (and greens) being driven by “I may as well roll the dice” dissatisfaction with status quo

Ed Hodgson@edhodgsoned.bsky.social

Really strong connection between life satisfaction and voting intention - people with low life satisfaction are much more likely to take a risk on a smaller or newer party, Labour is only comfortably ahead on people who give their life satisfaction at 10/10
