I am excited to announce that I am lead editing a volume with Amanda Rosen and Charity Butcher on AI and teaching tentatively named "AI and the Political Science Classroom: Teaching, Learning, and Pedagogical Choices."

The idea for this volume emerges from ongoing discussions about what to *do* about AI in classrooms. We are hoping to have a strong spectrum of pieces, including both from those who do support AI technologies in classrooms and those who are adamantly against it.

I will be eternally grateful to have been born in a literate culture where literacy was valued and expected and I still had the time, attention, and freedom to develop a literacy practice. Understanding context, inference, vocabulary, perspective, affect — all powerful, useful skills and values.

I'm really thrilled to be asked to serve on the board and I am looking to reviewing more pieces! I also want to thank the editorial leadership for inviting me to join-- I don't think a lot of journals ask ECRs to be on journal boards and I think I will benefit a ton from this experience.

I’m headed to PHX in a few weeks for our water resiliency project- I would love to connect with anyone based there to talk about water in your community! I’d also love any recommendations - especially if there are neighborhoods I should try to stay in!

L’shanah tovah and Shabbat Shalom! I poorly timed my conference trips this year and find myself in London for RH. The Borough Market came through though! It’s been a very complicated and challenging year but I feel more grounded and have a lot of hope for what 5787 holds for me and loved ones.

I'm also very excited to throughout the week, I'll also be participating in some working group sessions about Reimagining Accessibility! Also I regret to inform folks that l've completed my European scholar transformation and now rock the suit + sneakers combo.

After that, I'll be hosting a table at the Methods Café with Lauren Baker on Disability and Fieldwork from 2-3:30. I'll wrap up Friday hosting a table with Ronay Bakan at the Grad Student Café on finding mentorship and writing your dissertation. Both of the cafés are casual and conversational!

Shabbat shalom! Last week in Ottawa for the summer- back to Copenhagen next week for the fall term. I had some great news this week re: job market stuff and a paper I’ve had in my backlog for ages went under review at a super high impact journal. Unfortunately though,

early today my Copenhagen landlord let me know she had an unexpected life event and I have to find a new place to live in six weeks which is going to be a pretty huge stressor. Please send good vibes my way over the next several weeks because I’ll need it!

I'm reviewing some literature for an upcoming piece I'm writing with a collaborator and it is WILD to me how much we make generalizations about training in all of political science based on what "top 25" American political science programs do.

Absolutely insane that Cape Verde — a country of 500,000 — played Spain, Uruguay and Argentina…and lost to none of them in regulation. Easily one of the greatest performances in World Cup history.

So apparently it would be "too expensive" for Canada to enjoy the very cheapest form of power in all of human history, and must stay firmly tied to the sunsetting far more expensive form of power that's cooking the globe into a hellscape. 12/ www.carbonbrief.org/solar-is-now...

carbonbrief.orgSolar is now ‘cheapest electricity in history’, confirms IEAThe world’s best solar power schemes now offer the “cheapest…electricity in history” with the technology cheaper than coal and gas in most major countries.

When Carney calls the Trudeau Climate Target "well intentioned and suited for the times it was made," he's saying that being the very worst performer among all industrial nations is being "well intentioned" & still growing rather than shrinking emissions is "well suited" to the climate crisis. 8/

Also it’s a huge f*ck you to this US administration every round that CV stays in

I don't care how big a Messi fan you are, it is incumbent on all of us to root for Cape Verde to dump out Argentina before the Round of 16. It would be the greatest thing that ever happened in the history of the sport
