"The SAM data also showed support dropping for many of the cultural figures who validated Trump to young men during the 2024 campaign: Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, and Andrew Tate are now noticeably less popular with this cohort compared to the early days of 2025."

yahoo.comHow Trump Lost Gen Z MenTurns out, young men weren’t truly MAGA after all. According to the latest data, they mostly wanted cheap gas and no war—and they’re turning on the podcasters (Rogan) and politicians (Vance) who said ...

"Rogan had a 53 percent favorable rating among young men at the beginning of Trump's second administration, but that number has fallen to 42 percent, according to SAM's polling. Tate, who was arrested over the summer on sex-trafficking and money-laundering charges, now has a -30 net approval rating"

"(Tate has denied the charges against him.) Musk today has a favorable rating of just 37 percent among young men, with his net favorability dropping by 14 points. Carlson's net favorable rating has dropped by 12 points."

"Republicans redrew districts partly on how people voted in the 2024 presidential election. Now the political mood has changed and many who voted for Trump two years ago could be voting for Democrats, or not voting, in the midterms. The Republicans could lose many of the districts they targeted." 🤞

npr.orgTrump's redistricting gave Republicans a head start, now it goes to the votersPresident Trump, seeking to reshape the voting map, prompted a rare wave of mid-decade redistricting that gave Republicans a boost for holding the House. But the voters will determine if it works.

Maybe it's because of how I've curated my feed on here, but love that come election time my feed here just gets full of 'I voted' stickers and that's pretty much it.

No one tells you that when you have a nearly twenty year old cat that your grooming responsibilities of them increases by like triple. Suddenly they're a little arthritic so you're brushing them more frequently to prevent mats and trimming their claws so they don't get overgrown.

"For ethical reasons, researchers typically don’t conduct randomized, controlled trials to study the effects of medical interventions that are so clearly safe and beneficial, often relying instead on long-term monitoring studies."

"Kennedy has previously expressed his faith in the group and referred to them as 'revered deities of vaccine research.' Scientists have criticized the duo for questionable research practices, including lack of transparency about the measured outcomes, statistical flaws and inappropriate conclusions"

"Plans for the trial were halted in January as widespread condemnation erupted over the trial’s design, which would potentially expose thousands of newborns in the country to hepatitis B, risking a lifelong infection that can lead to liver cirrhosis, cancer, and premature death."

"But running a randomized, controlled trial of a vaccine whose safety and efficacy is already known could be ethically questionable, several researchers point out. And based on the information in the grant notice, “there are reasons to be concerned about whether anything useful will be learned,”"

Taking this learning and applying it to political discourse too. "When people receive online criticism about eating meat, framing it as a moral failing tends to provoke more defensiveness than framing it as a lack of cooking know-how...

psypost.orgOnline meat-shaming may do little to change minds, new research suggestsTelling someone online that they eat meat because they don’t care about the planet tends to backfire into defensiveness rather than persuasion. The same moral criticism from a stranger provoked even m...

...The experiments also suggest that the same moral criticism from a stranger sparks more resistance when it arrives as a private direct message rather than a public comment, possibly because it feels more personally targeted."

After having cats with the names Maya, Izzie/Isabel, Hera and Olivia, my husband says he gets to name the next cat (note: he did choose the name of 1.5 of our current cats). I'm afraid he'll choose something like Zero Sugar Baja Blast or whatever.

Applied for a role that in a healthy job market I might have a decent chance at. But reached out to a friend at this company, who reached out to the recruiter, and the recruiter said that they've already received hundreds of applicants 🥲

On another app, some are fighting me in the replies that they wouldn't expect this to contain romance since "bromance usually means male friendship," which may be true in other contexts. Except that this novel is marketed explicitly as m/m romantasy. Here's the back cover.

That's a wrap on this one. As others pointed out, it's fine. I think the book is mismarketed. And if you can get past it not being what the cover promises, it can even be good. But with the name "Bromantasy," I'd expect the romance to be central - instead of secondary or even tertiary to the plot.

"With more than 1 million votes counted, 77% supported remaining in Canada, while 23% backed beginning a process toward separation... The vote was not a direct referendum on independence but would have set oil-rich Alberta on a path toward a future vote on separation from Canada."
