Proud to be one of many who contributed to this important article. With typical postdocs joining labs in their 30s & staying 6 yrs, combined with low pay, the impact on women wanting to start a family is real. No wonder I waited to have my first child as a new PI. #Postdocs #WomenInScience

What is the relationship between conscious awareness and unconscious processing in the multisensory perception of our own bodies? In our new preprint, with @renzolanfranco.bsky.social as the lead author, we investigated this question. Link to the preprint and thread below
How does the perception of our bodily self arise in our experience, and to what extent do we process body ownership information unconsciously? In a new study (preprint), we found body ownership information processing cannot occur without awareness. 0/14👇 doi.org/10.31234/osf...

'You only use 10% of your brain' is nonsense. To a decent approximation, almost all of your brain is doing something almost all of the time. Bonus: It's not even clear what '"using" a part of your brain' even means.
What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders? I'll start: Amazon makes more money out of their Cloud services than out of their e-commerce platform.
You are up to date.
