The high level of heterogeneity of immune cells, (Kenji Chamoto) says, “is likely an eternal challenge in immunology.”'

nature.comWhat’s your name, immune cell? - Nature MethodsGroups of immunologists are advancing recommendations to address nomenclature challenges in their subfields.

What's in a name? Quite a lot: for cancer immunotherapy, it is vital that researchers & clinicians know when they are talking about the same cells (or not). CCII's Kenji Chamoto participated in this effort to standardise T cell nomenclature. #Immunology @natrevimmunol.nature.com

Our Imaging workshop organizer, Hiroshi Ichise, will be joining CCII this spring. You can read Hiroshi's recent work with Ron Germain, 'Rebalancing viral and immune damage versus repair prevents death from lethal influenza infection' (and see the beautiful images) 👇 www.science.org/doi/abs/10.1...

Register for April's CCII Workshop on Advanced Tissue Imaging & Image Analysis, here in Kyoto. Org. by Hiroshi Ichise & supported by Leica. Invited faculty: Matteo Iannacone (San Raffaele), Johanne Tracey Jacobsen (Oslo), Guolan Lu (Stanford), Yuki Sugiura (CCII) & Andrea Radtke (Leica). It's free!

Brown was an early mentor to Tasuku Honjo, who's always acknowledged him (including in his Nobel lecture over 4 decades later, on a completely different topic) When we were creatin a small exhibition here in @ccii-kyoto.bsky.social, Prof Honjo insisted that it include Don Brown (pic is from a panel)
