New involuntary care beds are coming to Surrey and Prince George. Every person struggling with severe mental illness and addiction is someone’s child, parent, sibling, or friend. These facilities mean real care and a path to recovery — not the street. No one should be left behind.

It’s been one week since our landmark deal with the federal government bringing billions of dollars in investment into B.C.!   Some highlights: skilled trades training, creating more opportunities close to home, supporting good, unionized jobs, and advancing affordable childcare.

May is Mining Month in B.C. and today representatives from the sector came to the Legislature to show off their projects and the good work they do in B.C. BC will be a clean energy super power. By building on our competitive advantages to grow communities, industry and create thousands of family-supporting jobs in the process.

🕯 Today, B.C. marks a Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the lives lost at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival. We stand with the Filipino community and honour the courage of first responders and volunteers who brought care in the face of tragedy.

Whether it's energy, critical minerals, or our access to markets, BC is a core part of standing strong in the face of Trump’s threats. We're ready to work with the new federal government to do our part.

Today, we remember the workers who died, were injured or became ill as a result of their job.  Everyone has a right to come home at the end of the day. We will continue to work toward that goal in partnership with workers, the labour movement and employers.

Today, Sikhs across BC and around the world celebrate Vaisakhi – commemorating the creation of the Khalsa and marking the harvest. BC is home to the biggest Vaisakhi celebrations outside of India, welcoming people of all backgrounds to join in. Happy Vaisakhi! (1/2)
