This week, I was proud to show my support for the #WearItRed campaign and stand against racism in football and in our communities. I joined Chris Hughton, Paul Davis, Perry Groves, Curtis Fleming and Paul Elliott to #ShowRacismTheRedCard

Albert Bridge has been closed for 8 months. This has caused huge disruption and chaos across Battersea. Bridges across London play a vital role in keeping our city moving, they must be seen as strategic assets with Government oversight. Today, I raised the issue in Parliament.

Far too many leaseholders in #Battersea have suffered from unfair & unclear charges with too little protection given to them when something goes wrong. I'm delighted that the Prime Minister announced his Labour Govt will take action, with greater oversight & stronger rights for leaseholders.

The Prime Minister's speech today shows that there is a real appetite to think & act boldly when it comes to our relationship with the EU. While the Government's red lines once served a purpose, the situation has changed & so must our approach when it comes to the EU.

20 years ago, a catastrophic crane failure on Thessaly Road claimed two lives - Jonathan Cloke & Michael Alexa. I was honoured to join our community, including Michael's mother Liliana, to remember the victims of the #Battersea Crane Disaster on its 20th anniversary. Due to sustained campaigning,

However, the Tories coalition govt repealed this legislation, making it now vital that this Labour govt reinstalls it. I'm proud to support the campaign to reinstate this critical legislation

Great to celebrate Air Ambulance Week by speaking to Air Ambulances UK about the important work their charities do to save lives. As a result of Brexit, the UK lost access to the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), which has significantly reduced navigation & approach (1/2)

capabilities for our helicopter operators. As the Govt looks to build a closer relationship with our EU partners, it's important that full reinstation to EGNOS is on the table - creating better cooperation between our essential services for life-saving results. (2/2)

Getting timely vehicle licences isn't just about how you get around - for many, it's also the difference between being unemployed & making a living. 🪪I was proud to help this local #Battersea cabbie get his black cab licence, ensuring he could continue to work.

As we approach the 22nd anniversary of Park Runs, it was great to celebrate their success with Dame Kelly Holmes. After years of campaigning, in 2024, Battersea Park held its first Parkrun. It’s one of the biggest in the UK – and boasts the record for the greatest attendance in the WORLD (1/2)

on its inaugural day. We also have Clapham Common Park Run that’s been around for more than eight years. It’s great to see so many people from our community come together for sport, fun & social connection ❤️ (2/2)

Good to meet with Minister Falconer to discuss UK-EU relations and the upcoming Parliamentary Partnership Assembly (PPA). As Co-Chair of the PPA, I am committed to ensuring a closer, more productive relationship between the UK & EU. Crucially (1/2)

Great to bring the fab local organisations that make up the #Battersea Alliance into Parliament for an update on their work and future plans. The Alliance pools resources & learning from some of #Battersea’s leading charities to deliver projects that make a real difference to our community.

☀️Great to be up bright & early to officially open the newly renovated #Balham Waitrose! As a local employer & a much loved shop used by so many, I'm pleased to see Waitrose Balham's continued contribution to our high street, local economy and community.

There is nothing in the Terminally Ill End of Life Bill that addresses the disproportionate impact assisted dying will have on black & ethnic minority communities & disabled people. This is one of the key reasons I will be voting against the Bill.

The breaking of ground at Prospect Place South marks a significant milestone in the transformation of #Battersea Power Station. The next phase of this project will create hundred of new jobs for local people, helping to drive growth, strengthen our local economy (1/2)

Lovely to attend service at Ascension #Balham & see the wonderful Revd Ros Williams receive her license to be Ascension's new Associate Minister! I know that Ros will continue the fantastic work Ascension does in serving the people of #Balham

I welcome this Labour Government's decisive action to ban the import of goods from illegal Israeli settlements & I will keep fighting for a wholesale ban on all arms sales to Israel & sanctions to be imposed on the Israeli Govt.

Retired civil servants in #Battersea are still waiting to receive their pension statements & Capita are acting with little urgency or empathy to find a solution. I called for a Government statement setting out the steps it will take to ensure that my constituents can rightfully (1/2)

It was fantastic to be back at #Battersea Community Festival, which brings together the whole community for a day of celebration with food, music & family-fun. A massive thank you to the Battersea Alliance & all the organisations & volunteers that made it happen ✨

My Political Summer School breaks down boundaries for young people in #Battersea, giving them an insight into politics & a chance to see what related careers are available to them. Watch what 2026 student, Abilio, had to say about his experience..

✊ Your Member of Parliament is there to represent you - that means raising issues that impact your life, community & wellbeing. 📞 I was pleased to get a good outcome for a constituent who was trying to begin their postdoctoral research on lymphoma & cancer treatment but facing Home Office delays.

In Britain, we pay huge amounts of money to lease our trains from foreign-owned private companies. These privateers have taken £2.9 billion out of our railway in the last five years alone. That's why I'm supporting ASLEF's campaign to Own Our Trains.

After a year of hard work & campaigning, I was delighted that Battersea Park held its first visually impaired tennis session. Joined by coaches from Queens Club Foundation, Battersea Park provided expert coaching to visually impaired & blind people who live across our community. (1/2)

Another one of my Summer School students achieving great things: A huge congratulations to Ethan from this year's cohort, who will be starting at the University of Warwick this September to study Politics & International Relations 🎉

Carney's Community is one of #Battersea's great local charities, that supports disadvantaged children & young people through mentoring, skill-building activities & support. ⏩ Catch up on my recent visit & catch-up with CEO George
