The ABI is the part of the CPython API a compiler never checks for you, and it's why bugs like this turn into segfaults instead of build errors. Nathan Goldbaum lays out the mechanics in his EuroPython talk. Watch the full talk here: buff.ly/j0pOiU1 #Python #CPython #EuroPython

Everyone rushes to compare Polars and SQL on speed and syntax. Marco Gorelli points out that almost nobody is comparing the semantics, the actual mental models behind each one. Full talk from PyData London: buff.ly/uInE29g #Polars #SQL #PythonData #DataEngineering #Quansight

I don't enjoy making financial content, but the lack of mainstream media coverage about this is upsetting. If you can handle even more outrage, look up the new float and 3x multiplier rules applying to index funds and SpaceX, as there's no way I could explain that adeptly in a 3 minute reel.

It was great to talk with Daria and Mia @clytaemnestra.bsky.social about @europython.eu 2026! Thanks for coming on the show. So many interesting and cool talks scheduled!

If you were a fan of Reply All, especially the parts where they fixed people’s problems or answered questions- you need to check out Alex’s new show. Also spread the word- I just found it last week.

As antithetical to every part of my personality it may be, posting on Instagram/tiktok/here/etc has been the driver of unprecented member growth over the past couple weeks. I’m hoping that I can keep that momentum to ease the pressure on the show and pay my staff better. So here it is one more time.
