Check out the latest Torus library demo: torus.dimamik.com. You can: - Explore semantic (meaning of the text), full text, similarity, and other search methods - See the Elixir code generated to perform this search - Play with other Torus search options #Torus #elixirlang #Ecto #PostgreSQL #Beam

Also, if you're in Chicago and would like to meet, let me know. Can't wait to see you all!

Hey hey hey! 2 things from me! 1. I'll be speaking about Legion in the Elixir Meetup in Chicago (09/09, 6 pm)! 2. We are doing a series of offline Elixir-related 20-minute sessions with our team to help you and your organization solve any tech problem you might have. Links in 🧵.

I think BEAM is an ideal runtime for running AI Agents - everything's already baked in. To help folks get started, I created a tiny abstraction over it named Legion. Legion is super simple - every agent is a process. Agents can talk to other agents and run tools by executing pure Elixir code...

Since we're operating on raw BEAM processes, you can: - Communicate with it by sending messages - receive messages from it - it can spawn sub-agents, and thanks to BEAM's linked processes and reliability, if the parent fails, the child agents will be killed. If a child fails, it'll be restarted.

While explaining why they chose Elixir, they say that - It is great for supervising long-running processes - It has an active ecosystem of tools and libraries - It supports hot code reloading without stopping actively running subagents, which is very useful during development.

Just added BM25 full-text search to Torus - bringing Elixir apps one step closer to only needing PostgreSQL. BM25 is a production-grade retrieval algorithm used by Elasticsearch and other search engines. Read more: dimamik.com/posts/bm25_s... Thanks to @thinkingelixir.com for the inspiration!

Ever wanted to play on your MIDI keyboard for your friends live, but never had a chance to gather them all in a single room? I did, and that's why I created piano.dimamik.com. It's written in Elixir, uses Phoenix Presence to count visitors, and uses WebRTC DataChannels to transmit MIDI events.

The best AI agent framework was invented in 1986. It's called Erlang. - Agents => Processes - Orchestration => Supervision - Agent communication => Message passing - Coordination => Pure code Legion connects the dots together - github.com/dimamik/legion #myelixirstatus #Legion #elixirlang
