We just released 11 CVEs for Bandit, most being 8.7 (HIGH), so please update to version 1.14.0 ASAP. Thanks to @mtrudel.bsky.social for triaging and fixing these vulnerabilities promptly β€οΈ #ElixirLang

An #ElixirLang package to check your `@spec` annotations against the types the compiler infers. Definitely the sort of thing with a limited shelf life (assuming we eventually get the ability to write our own compiler-checked types), but in the meantime, seems super valuable. hex.pm/packages/spe...

The first version of verified_pubsub is now available on Hex. It's live in production at work, so I feel a bit more comfortable recommending it others. I'll be talking about this a lot more at ExMex in a few weeks. hex.pm/packages/ver... #ElixirLang

But it's really, really hard to build an LLM harness that optimizes for writing code that'll be easy to maintain 10 years from now. I'm skeptical we'll see such a thing in the near term. (That's why all the benchmarks test whether the LLM can build a thing that works todayβthat's programming, baby!)

Hi! π Sentry Elixir SDK 14.0 is now available! π It comes with improvements in the PII data scrubbing APIs, better handling of user-provided callbacks (before_send etc.), AND changes how structured logging and metrics are configured. Please read the CHANGELOG π github.com/getsentry/se...

Really excited for this one. My colleague Matt knows his stuff when it comes to frontend performance, and heβs come up with tricks Iβve never seen anyone else even hint at.
Matt Swensen will speak about keeping LiveView's JS hooks fast even as apps grow at Code BEAM Europe 2026! Real production lessons on performance at scale. π 21-22 Oct | Haarlem, NL | In-person & Virtual https://codebeameurope.com/#register

βοΈ My pull request for a refund feature grew past 3,000 lines. At that size, a code review can't do its job: reviewers miss things or rubber-stamp it. So I stopped adding to it and started extracting the unrelated fixes and tests into their own PRs. mikezornek.com/posts/2026/9...

Hey Elixir friends! :) My ElixirConf US talk "Hologram: Building Local-First Apps in Pure Elixir" is live. A trip planner goes offline in one window, then catches up. How it works: the compiler works out what each page syncs, and edits merge per column, no CRDTs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdg_...

π¨βπ» Posted some follow-up observations about phoenix_test performance. #ElixirLang TL;DR: Yes, it can be slower (because it is doing more helpful work), but `async: true` should be your first target if you're having trouble with test wall-clock time -- always. forum.elixirforum.com/t/one-pipe-o...
Preview of some rewrites coming to Quokka, courtesy of my coworker @katafrakt.eurosky.social at Jump... Our DX team has leaned pretty heavily into trying to automate performance improvements like these. If the formatter can do it for you, why not? π #ElixirLang

π A favor to ask: I'm looking to land Elixir consulting work. To help get in front of new faces, I have a "one problem, two weeks, $6,000" offer. Aimed at one nagging thing: a flaky test suite, a stalled upgrade. The debt that falls on the floor. A share or an intro would mean a lot. π #ElixirLang
