"Whatever dark power Trump has that has enabled him to become president twice while being quite literally one of the most morally despicable human beings on Earth, it’s not easily duplicated by your average Republican candidate for Senate, House, or governor." — @paulwaldman.bsky.social

I can't speak to the accuracy of this rendering, but know that the Lincoln Memorial is 80 feet tall while the proposed Trump vanity arch would be 250 feet tall, or three times the height #MePolitics

Maine peeps - the sky is super clear tonight and the moon is really bright - if you have binoculars or a telescope, get out there and have a look And it's not even that cold

Because we don’t value art as a society Look at public architecture Compare the razed Custom House building in Rockland to the current post office across the street We used to take pride in our communities and now we can’t find folks to volunteer on boards/commissions

When I see things like this, I just want to sigh and say why can’t we have nice things in our public spaces it reminds me of the first time I went to Canada in the 1990s and saw the most beautiful flower gardens in the public spaces, even in the tiniest little pocket parks.

Visiting our daughter in Providence recently, the weeds growing out of the street tree boxes are so huge you actually have to walk around them The public works doesn’t seem to care but nor do the people that actually live on those streets

20 to 30 minutes I’ll wager and his suits are still too small

Bootlicking interview from Susan Collins sycophant Phil Hirschkorn (what's new? how does he sleep at night) but it still manages to make some news starting at 14:25 when she begins a wild rant with: "Israel does not target civilians." tinyurl.com/3ex9nxrh #MEpoltics

Unless they have turned on Trump, everyone even remotely close to the admin will receive a pardon The mass pardon of the #J6 insurrectionists was a test of this A reminder that this would apply only to federal laws #MePolitics

Growing up in the St. John Valley, French heritage was all around me. But so was a long history of animosity toward French people and the French language...

At this point is anyone swayed by the incessant political ads? Another result of the belief that more money in politics is a good thing - and I'll say - the money is really really good for political operatives

It all comes down to Maine. It comes down to us. We know what’s at stake. We know that a vote for Susan Collins is a vote for Donald Trump. Let’s win this thing and take back the Senate.

This is hardly new for Maine Republicans - there was this from 2011 www.dirigoblue.com/2011/06/gop-... #MePolitics

Steve Robinson of the Maine Wire said this is why they're filming interpreters for voters in Lewiston: The interpreters, Robinson said, are part of a “busing operation that is bringing in jobless Somali bums to vote.” This is clearly racist and xenophobic voter suppression. #mepolitics

One of the takeaways from the Bobby Charles event last night was how “angry” his supporters are And the other is how these folks have been duped for decades by Republicans like Charles - to be angry at things that have no impact on their own lives while the uber-wealthy openly steal from them

They're scared to have real people from the working class in Washington because they know we'll challenge the status quo at every turn. The government we have now doesn't work for everyday people. It works fine for the wealthy. They're scared of losing that.

While inexcusable, Hegseth’s complete fuck up in the Gulf and the cover up is more clear when you understand his goal is to turn our military into an army for Jesus

THIS SHOULD BE GETTING MORE ATTENTION Wedgewood Polls admitted that the vast majority of its election polls were based on fabricated data. And these major news orgs fell for it: The New York Times, POLITICO, Newsweek, MS NOW, The Hill, The Daily Beast & Breitbart.

Trump’s trade wars have made life harder and more expensive for Mainers. Susan Collins enabled this chaos, voted to confirm the people behind it, and now wants credit for bringing a cup of water to put out the fire.

Trump: "We'll take care of Cuba on our way back from Iran ... those beautiful ships, they'll pass Cuba. We'll have one of them stop about 50 yards off the coast. They'll raise up their hands, and then we're gonna send Marco Rubio in."

😳 WOMAN REPORTER: Do sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to you, sir? TRUMP: Wait. Wait! Wait wait wait. Slow down. Who are you with? REPORTER: NBC, sir. But they are very serious sex abuse allegations TRUMP: Quiet! Isn't she a fresh person? You're a horrible little reporter, aren't you?

Trump: "You know, the first question -- they have a lion, a snake, a giraffe, and a bear. And they say 'which is the snake?' ... by the time you get to number five a lot of people are left out on the road ... I get no credit for it."
