Disa’s Plea to the Rocks

always refreshing to stumble upon anything Tolkien in day day places, came across this near the train station in Birmingham, UK It says in 1895 Tolkien immigrated to Birmingham from South Africa

ages ago we were here, look at us now 🥳🥳

hello TROP friends, it’s been a while, you haven’t aged a day

put it back …

Congratulations to the amazing @teawithtolkien.com so excited for you and looking forward to reading this gift of a book. 💫💫

Some quotes from Dvergatal (Catalogue of Dwarfs), which listed the names of dwarfs in Völuspá, a poem in Poetic Edda, although this part is now often set aside from newer editions. Tolkien adopted some names for Gandalf and the Dwarves in Thorin's company. #WyrdWednesday 🎨: The Brothers Hildebrandt

glad the new year has started, each day brings us closer to seeing TROP S3

A blessed New Year to us all. May the mountains standing tall and firm remind us that love and light persist. #GlacierExpress #SwissAlps

A blessed the Fellowship Leaves Rivendell Day. In observance I went to a John Howe exhibition. It was fantastic! Had potatoes for lunch as Sam would have it ☺️. Merry Christmas 🎄💫

3 words: Sea’s always right 🌊

Found my favourite autumnal tree I've come across on my walks so far! 🍂 It's absolutely huge and golden – I'm certainly glad I looked up. It reminds me of mallorn trees in autumn! Also, the Quenya name for mellyrn, malinornë, is so beautiful. ♡ 🎨 Art by Ted Nasmith (Mallorn in the Shire).

A lovely time by the pool of blue water at the halls of Aulë. It is said some of every tree that grows in middle earth grew here. (Blausee, Switzerland)

Just wondering, Saruman had such contempt for Radagast the brown, do we know how he felt about Tom Bombadil?

Therapist: in this session we will begin to dig deeper into … Me: No. The Dwarves dug too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazad-dûm... shadow and flame. Therapist: emotions, dig into emotions Me: oooh ok

Cool piece of dwarf lore about the Mirrormere by @knewbettadobetta.bsky.social on Insta www.instagram.com/reel/DPbmtPu...

read this as “most consequential battles of middle earth” and I wanted to start digging and excited about a new thing to learn

One of the most consequential barriers of the Middle Ages….

Of #Unfriends “… we desire no strangers in this land to break the peace in which we live. And these folks are hewers of trees and hunters of beasts; therefore we are their unfriends, and if they will not depart we shall afflict them in all ways that we can.'” - Green Elves

Happy one-year anniversary to The Rings of Power Season Two 🤩

“there dwelt those of the Sindar who still loved ships, and Círdan the shipbuilder was their lord …”

Rings for free.

my friends, you bow to no one

New video: I took my Pocket Guide to Middle-earth and turned it into a video! I know I struggle to sit and read through an entire guide sometimes, so I thought creating an audio/video format would make it easier for some folks. Link: youtu.be/fkW1e4LoqZA #lotr #lordoftherings

May the work of your hands be blessed and established. All abuzz here in Khazad-dûm. The resonating 101 students are graduating from the entry level class. They will have a break then start the next level in a few weeks. #DepthNotGreed

Wishing the amazing Sophia Nomvete a wonderful birthday week/month. We are blessed to have her as the glorious Disa.

Currently, we have five confirmed new cast members joining the series for season three! What are your guesses on who each might play? #TheRingsofPower

no one as stressed about door handles as a Tesla uber driver

I forgot about grumpy Gandalf, listening to the Hobbit again and the part Thorin is asking how Gandalf got the map and key. Gandalf is like it wasn’t given to me, I didn’t get it and I should be getting thanks for all the trouble I went through to find you …
