The fact that the nazis found their way to get an audience on Bluesky (and not just get immediately blocked/shunned) via transphobia is almost symbolic. The fact that the most vicious bigots on here are US Democrats, & that it took so little for them to reveal themselves, is like the UK in miniature
Firmly beleive the Western world is where it is because we haven't applied severe and overwhelming consquences to people who have done fundamentally evil things. This wont stop until people in "banality of evil" positions start going to jail and losing their livelihoods and futures.
I genuinely believe men do this because they imagine themselves as victims of an accusation, false or not. They dont imagine themselves as a victim of assault, so they don't care about that. They see themselves as a rapist or as a creep doing something that gets them painted that way.
For me, the hardest thing about stories like the Cornell gang rape case isn’t reading the initial details—although that is hard. What’s even harder is when men online, especially the journalists and pundits, start trying to combat the feminist outrage by purposefully seeding doubt and victim-blaming
Its upsetting that amongst all the rising fascism there's a whole layer of highly and narrowly educated engineers who have no idea how knowledge works bc they never thought it worth studying that are being tricked by cold-reading machines into thinking human consciousness is analogous to autocorrect
This is true but the discussion always always always leaves out the other side of the equation - that building a movement to fight for material improvements, while not expecting (or even trying) to *recruit* morons, pushes them back and creates an actual counterweight to their moron power.
a lot of people want to believe that right-wing beliefs are rooted in some legitimate material grievance. that makes it easier to imagine that if we simply solved the material problem, they’d deradicalize. but they won’t, because they aren’t disillusioned, they’re just morons.

The correct response when asked about trans kids playing sports is not "it doesn't matter" or "nobody cares". The correct response is "trans kids deserve the same rights as anyone else, including sports, bathrooms, etc". And frankly, this isn't asking for a lot, at all. The bar is in Hell.

these paedophiles need to go to jail.
This post just popped up on my Facebook from a page with tens of thousands of followers. Behind the black box are the names of 10 children the OP is alleging to be trans. The post also include photos of all 10 children, and the name of the schools they attend. They’re now doxxing minors.

I gave 15 years of my life to a socialist organisation that turned out to be soft on rapists, and led by one. All our good work was undone overnight because of the rapist and his supporters. It's entirely on the apologists posing as 'left.' If you come forward you will always have an advocate in me.
Heartbreaking hearing that the woman who Platner raped was hesitant to come forward because she agreed with his politics and didn’t want to damage the movement. If you didn’t already realize, this sort of thing happens a lot you just don’t usually hear about it
i guess its a type of anxiety, but it's like, "are you going to withdraw your estimate of my humanity if I dont do what you want" rather than just plain "is this person going to be mean to me". Like you could take it if they're just mean, it's the fact you lose your human status thats the crux of it

I couldn't exist in the 90s. I was buried alive, my heart removed and placed on ice somewhere, and i was only a kid. It wasn't even possible for me to be a real person. It was an era in which my people had been 90% successfully deleted from existence. It wasn't a closet, it was a grave.
