Anyone who ever heard of the National Guard at Kent State in 1971, knows that. I saw the National Guard in DC. It made me very uncomfortable. I also had sympathy for them because they didn’t sign up to police cities, but to help in national disasters, etc.

Well they shot at least ONE INNOCENT person! Oh wait that was Memphis.

Trump's deployment of National Guardsmen to DC to fight crime was in fact a big and expensive political show—a review found the soldiers rarely play a meaningful role of any sort in battling crime, which in any event, had witnessed record lows before the Guardsmen were deployed.

🚨EXCLUSIVE: Military families and service members are now describing horrific conditions across MULTIPLE ships: human waste flooding bathrooms, virtually no food, water or soap, months without port calls, exhausted crews, and no end in sight. This crisis is far bigger than just the Lincoln.

They’ll slap “Support the Troops” on a bumper sticker and then send service members into an open-ended war while their food, sanitation, rest, and basic living conditions fall apart. @gunnyspeaksout.bsky.social has a message for Pete Hegseth: our troops are not disposable. BRING THEM HOME:

Perhaps the WHCA is best understood less as an independent organization and more as an exemplar of reverse institutional capture: a private oversight body, of sorts, abdicating its responsibilities to earn the favor of a debased executive branch.

This is disgusting and unacceptable. President Trump withheld much-needed funding for education, energy projects, healthcare, housing, and infrastructure from states that didn't vote for him in 2024. Federal funding should not be subject to political vendettas. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/24/b...

To date at age 70 I have yet to see America "Give Peace A Chance", rather we tend to hear the beating of the war drum and rush to answer it. Viet Nam was template for all that has followed, an endless war that slaughtered a generation of young Americans for nothing. We Never Learn.

When Trump said “I’m not going to start a war,” many Americans believed that promise - and voted for him. When he said his Iran war would be over in a few weeks, many believed that too. Americans today are fed up with the cost of this war - and the lies.
