New Liz Truss book doesn't disappoint. Thrust is blaming the Bank of England for the Sept 2022 market fallout, especially its quantitative tightening announcement the day before the mini-budget. She claims that she and Kwarteng were "caught off-guard", blindsided by the BoE's announcement.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

not being funny but why wouldnt you have a bag of rice or pasta, sauce and tinned food in the cupboard? essential cupboard management should last you a few days maybe a week at a push. if you eat takeaways every night then perhaps you need to grow the f**k up

in my hazy memory the UK had discovered north sea oil and gas in the 80s and immediately sold it lock stock to the US oil industry for dubious reasons. not long after came the Piper Alpha disaster, which oddly I recently discovered have a family link to www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

this @octopus.energy policy of taking weeks to respond to emails is most annoying. They must be too busy for the work, I just want a charger installed and for it to comply with ozev grant requirements.

i knew it was a lie @mrjamesob.bsky.social as a family friend managing a full care home said they got sent 3 sets of ppe a few days after Hancock said there was a ‘ring’. They needed hundreds or thousands. It will forever be criminal negligence to me

the touch screens in mcdonalds at watford gap are clearly about to transmit the 2026 covid variants just wait until any sporting event and travelling fans use any motorway services

such a great feeling waking up to a decent spurs win! good time was had by all. first time ive heard laughing and giggling at the Lane in what feels like eternity - our last decent home win was Brentford last year and last 3 goals at home was Burnley (in the league) m.youtube.com/watch?v=8zDq...

getting home at 2:30am is totally worth it when we get to see Kulu sprinting down the side again. Kudus reminded me of Ginola a few times as well, especially his setup for Mads goal #coys

sick to death of these fringe idiots like jenrick, a total racist moron. they add no value to this country, just the rantings of sad alcoholics

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

There are 4 million naturalised citizens, a million of them European nationals. Jenrick is saying at least 4-6 million people with British citizenship should not never have been allowed to become British and he does not accept them as British. This is much more Restore than Reform language.

started watching celebrity traitors and cant understand why claire balding has dressed as james blunt and nobody has thought it suspicious

having accidentally bought a iphone 18, I have also discovered that the Windy weather app has a carplay widget which shows weather radar on your car dashboard. You can stack these up, so photos and other EV apps can be seen while driving. incremental improvements i guess

look at this gibbon in a suit. its quite something to behold how stupid this gibbon be

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: How do you define socialism personally? JD VANCE: I think in reality what it actually means in the American context is you want to replace American workers with foreigners workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports

i may be off my tits on catnip but this new iphone wont show on my credit card for at least a few weeks in your face narc

the problem with Absolute Radio as alternative to currently lame BBC Radio 6 is the chances of hearing a Keane record is way too high oh simple thing where have you gone I pissed the bed and I need something dry to lie on

for me the Archer story starts with lying about going to Oxford. Everything flows from that fraud. From a disenfranchised student version of me, up yours Jeff. Rip Monica

I didnt expect both Reform and Greens to implode quite so spectacularly this autumn. I wonder if the upcoming US mid terms forced their implodey hand a bit

self: dont listen to the tory conference coverage on BBC radio radio: broadcasts absolute shit by total idiots but its ok because ‘you have to laugh’ according to some gibbering monkey tory self: I f***ing warned you radio: *off

‘when climate politics get hard, we bottle it and abolish the environment agency’ another absolute clown show. Conservatives are just incapable

James Murray@james-bg.bsky.social

The pitch here seems to be, ‘we’ll build the houses and infrastructure we failed to build during the 14 years we were in government, but we’ll do it in the most damaging and lowest quality way possible’. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

My copy of Ke Huy Quan's memoir came in from the library today. I'm a third of the way through it already and folks, it's a really emotional book. The way he talks about the people that impacted his life is so wholesome. Can't recommend this highly enough!
