This is awful news. 10 years to the day since Axel, too. It's hard to put into words how you feel when it happens. You don't personally know the person, but you feel weird.

3 year extension is now "long term"

Man City, and now Leinster. Terrible weekend for fans of financial doping.

Sitting on the couch watching MOTD with my dog, and realised he's 10 human years old today. There's still plenty of life in him, and he's had a very relaxed life of sleeping on furniture he wasn't supposed to be allowed on, but the reality has hit me like a train. We don't deserve dogs.

The Electric Ireland bill that came in this week nearly gave me an aneurysm.

Jooooohhhh No!@josefoshea.bsky.social

Every Irish household has been hit by huge hikes in energy rates this week. And we are laying out the red carpet for the lunatic responsible - visiting his golf club in Co Clare instead of the 25th anniversary events for 9/11. Will our Taoiseach even mention the Iran war?

You'd have to wonder what Troy Parrott was thinking in rejecting West Ham for Real Betis. He could have being playing in the Championship in Bolton tonight instead of in the Champions League in Lille. A madness.

I am not a boxing fan. I absolutely respect their dedication and skill, but the sport is not for me. That being said, last night was amazing. What that woman has done for Irish sport, and for Irish women's sport in particular, cannot be overstated. Fair play, Katie. You proved them all wrong.

This is the second such incident in a week. Horrific.

Footage shows the scene on the M9 in Co Kildare, where a number of people have died and four others, including a child, have been seriously injured. A vehicle travelling the wrong way on the M9's northbound carriageway collided with a second car. More on Virgin Media PLAY. #VMNews

As Derval O'Rourke said, not every kid is going to be the fastest, the strongest, the one who can jump the highest or the one who can throw the farthest, but people like Kate O'Connor provide inspiration. You may not be the best in one discipline, but you can be good in many. Keep plugging away.

Decathletes and heptathletes are just superhuman. It’s just normal to be that good at that many things. What a superstar Kate O’Connor is

Australia v Japan is good craic. Australia getting their act together in an attacking sense. Marky Mark to come back in before the World Cup, too. Defense seems to be an afterthought, which makes for great fun.

Grab a coffee and have a read of how I think Munsters attack will evolve this season moving from flat structure based system to a collision based approach. How the new signings will help and how youth will need to play a big part over the next few seasons overthehillprop.wixsite.com/website/post...

This kills Infantino's dream dead. Europe is the money spinner for the World Cup. Sponsorship won't come in if Germany, Italy (once upon a time), France, Spain and England *washes mouths out, aren't going yo be involved.

I would point out the difference between the aftermath of Mathieu winning a sprint on the flat and Tadej breaking the record up Alpe d'Huez. One was laying on the cobbles in agony, the other barely looked tired.

Mathieu van der Poel. Chapeau. That took balls.
