every fan of an AL team should be experiencing secondhand shame that this is the best team their league produced. you should all feel like Lord Toranaga when Tadayoshi spoke out of turn at the Council of Regents

dude, you got yourself kicked out of two boarding schools, your Harvard application is rumored to have consisted of two words - "Harvard" and "Kennedy" -, your peers there say you were a dealer in college, your roommate reportedly wrote your senior thesis for you, and you failed the NY bar twice

Stop what you are doing and look at this lovely story. A photography student in the 80s took pictures of punks and mods on the street in Preston. He’s now tracked them down and photographed them again. The pictures and stories are really ❤️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I could spend the rest of my life analysing this feedback sign in the local Home Bargains. Did 'not happy' break from overuse? Was it taped over to ensure 100% positive feedback? Is the green 'b' in 'feedback' some kind of subliminal nudge? Is the duck tape indent because people still keep pressing?

Sobs in I have a god kid in europe and readers I post packages to in ireland. And it's already currently almost impossible to post things to Ireland/europe without weird charges and returns. Brexit, the gift that keeps on giving.

I’d love to get back to a timeline where elections were about “I think Joe has better policy ideas than Bob,” rather than our current “THE FATE OF DEMOCRACY IF NOT LIFE ITSELF REQUIRES BOB TO LOSE MY GOD WHY ARE MORE BILLIONAIRES FUNDING BOB?!” elections of today.

If you had told me at any point in Lula's 1st or 2nd term not only that I would be rooting for him in the future ... but also that I'd be rooting for his *4th* term, when he's *80*, after multiple corruption convictions... and that I would think it was of *urgent global importance* for him to win...

Really wish we weren't in a situation where you'd be anxious about who wins the Brazilian election. But here's hoping the US mid-terms will deliver some more hope - and another kick in the bollix for Zuck, Musk, Farage and the rest of the ghouls.

Yes! Vast plantations of Sitka Spruce deserts, knackered creameries pumping solvents into rivers with zero penalties! Every fecker with a JCB digging up the bogs! The Irish way!

“It’s giving colonialism”: Ireland still owes rent to dukes and earls. Although, even though the OPW lists these rents as payable, some of the named beneficiaries say they haven't been getting them.
