Decades ago my brother and I went to a retro diner. We didn’t realize it was one of those places where the staff perform some joyless doo-wop number every hour. We were the only patrons in the place. It was excruciating. Trump’s festival on the national mall looks worse than that.

Relatedly, Trump and MAGA fully grasp that their longer term success will depend on our willingness to move on from everything they've done to our country, and directly to us. Musk as well. There cannot be any forgetting. www.offmessage.net/p/detrumpifi...

Elon Musk is playing a critical role in the global fascist resurgence. Only an international movement, one that involves liberal democratic governments, can break his power. We need this to be squarely on the agenda. A few initial ideas below. 7/ newrepublic.com/article/2119...

Musk functionally ran the US government for 6 months last year and managed to: increase spending, slash services, kill 100,000s, and help nurture both Ebola & Screwworms. Yet somehow no one mentions this when they talk about the company he is going to take public this week.

And we will get what we deserve. God have mercy on those of us who were too weak to stop it.

Millions of American voters wanted to be villains. They came to believe it’s the key to success, while goodness is weak, woke, loser stuff, done only to signal. Offered the option of unvarnished villainy, they enthusiastically took it. Seeing others suffer more made them feel big. And here we are.

I live in NYC. The fear of being targeted by a terrorist attack is always there in the background. Every time this godforsaken wretch of a human being opens his degenerate mouth, the probability of a mass casualty event happening in the place where I raise my daughter skyrockets. God, damn him.

An observation I've been thinking about: Around 2020, we were told that US political & corporate elites had been gripped by "wokeness" & thus become obsessed with climate change & diversity. This wokeness was alleged to be so severe & monomaniacal that it threatened the entire culture & economy.

You don’t say…

Wall Street’s biggest banks made more money financing green projects than they did from working with fossil fuel companies for a fourth straight year, even as they faced ongoing pressure to pull back from the business

This is the way.

#Rome has two new metro stations! This week, Line C opened the Porta Metronia and Colosseo-Fori Imperiali stations, which double as museums of Imperial Rome. #Roma #transit Here's an eye-opening plunge into Colosseo-Fori:

I couldn't take a photo but I saw a sign that said "the Big Beautiful Bill is the name of Trump's cellmate". And it was a woman with white hair, they go hard man

I’ve been working on this for a WHILE and would be so grateful if you could check it out and share—Dems need a vision, and they keep missing the mark. We built it for them, grassroots, and have a plan to make it happen. Americandemands.com

What if we could channel all our frustrations over our country’s rapid slide into authoritarianism into advocacy for policies that work for all of us? We can. Welcome to @americandemands.bsky.social #DemandBetter

A State Department employee shared with PBS News an image from inside the department. The image includes a piece of paper taped to a mirror with the words, "Colleagues, if you remain: RESIST FASCISM. Remember the oath you vowed to uphold."
