I would really, really very much like it if the Bluesky app could pick up where I left off instead of jumping to the top of my feed every time it opens or refreshes.

It is literally the least you could do and still be doing ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ.

I was in front of a first time voter today. Everybody clapped and cheered they gave them a little flag. It really reminded me of cell phone carriers who will give new customers all these great rates and perks and long time customers get fuck all. I wanted a little flag.

Wait, ok, be so for real with me right now. Do people think The Shadow (1994) is a bad movie? Is that the general consensus? Like, I grew up on it and I've seen it a hundred times so I think it's peak and can no longer view it objectively, so I'd love some input.

MYTH: Every mixup is a 50/50 FACT: All is written. You were never meant to block that low. The very concept of a mixup is the post-hoc invention of a mind in hitstun. The trajectory of particles cannot be changed

You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Sadly we also broke the chicken farming industry and liquidated all the chickens so there will also be no omelette. Big Think Dimension is live! twitch.tv/gigaboots

Your PC game has PlayStation glyphs? Very cool. Thank you. Always appreciated. You have a nifty feature to recognize my controller and automatically display the correct buttons? Super neat-o. You didn't give me an option in the menu to force the controller buttons I want to be displayed? Fuck you.

In no particular order or orientation I present 9 (because it seems to be the style) anime characters I "he just like me for real"-ed at at one point or another while growing up.

Genma Saotome has always been something of a role model for me. He's ๐˜ซ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ต knowledgeable and skillful enough to make you feel like it's okay to trust him when he starts spooling out some absolute bullshit.

Decided to finally do that thing where I watch The Evil Dead then immediately start up Evil Dead II right at the splice point. What followed was ten minutes of digging my DVD copy of The Evil Dead out of a box because I've apparently been watching it streaming for years. Gonna be worth it, though.

The Deadite will go out of its way to do the most fucked up thing possible, even if that means holding off a while to build the tension to do an even more fucked up thing later with greater emotional impact. They will risk losing control of a situation and being defeated in order to have more fun.

These are demons at their most clownish and hedonistic. They represent that perfect antithesis to a traditionally Catholic somber repression. It's not just the pain, it's the ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ in the pain that is the point. That is what makes them so alien, so in-human, so absolutely fucking scary.

I'm just going to talk about the Deadites for a minute. They are, by far, my favorite horror movie antagonist/monster/threat. Most everything else you encounter in a horror movie is either acting out of a biological imperative to kill or eat, or a premeditated goal (usually revenge of some sort).

The Deadites, though? The Deadites are in it for the pure love of the game. The Deadites want to cause the maximum amount of emotional and physical pain because The desecration of flesh is spiritually fulfilling for them. The chaos and the fear are the point, not just the death.

I used to want to go back to being a kid again so I could use my experience to make different choices and optimize my life. Nowadays I'm just really into the idea of making adults uncomfortable by being an incredibly creepy child who knows too much.

If you've never been through a post-hurricane (I mean one where your whole town didn't get fucking destroyed) it's pretty amazing. The weather is instantly immaculate. Everybody's out in the morning raking and hauling limbs. Packs of feral children run the streets in newly formed friend groups.

Did I mention the raking? Because there's a whole lot of raking. Like. An absolutely obscene fuck ass of raking. I have done so much God damn raking over the last couple days.

Neighbors become acquaintances as we pass the news around and ask the same two or three questions about storm damage and whether you have power back yet. Everybody's helping anybody out. Hierarchies are quickly established based on the ability to cook without power and bottled water stockpiles.

So after that, it turned out that the worst part of the hurricane was all the scary wind and the property damage and all of the raking I've had to do since.
