Steve Jobs predicted cities would be designed around this device, which was "as big a deal as the PC." Jeff Bezos called it "one of the most famous and anticipated product introductions of all time." don't let our tech lords fool you into believing they can predict the future.

MAGA is trying to claim, “but the border is closed!” as if it's some counter argument. Screwworm flies have wings hence why prevention efforts were located in Central America and Mexico. DOGE teenagers eliminated those programs thinking it was fraud. And now we suffer from MAGA beliefs.

Europe is much safer than Russia or the US

Joni Askola@joniaskola.bsky.social

The claim that Europe is a dangerous wasteland is a total lie. Data shows Western Europe’s homicide rate is ~1 per 100,000, while the US and Russia are 5-7x higher. Influencers push this to attack immigration, yet Russia has Europe's largest Muslim population and the US was built by immigrants

Understand that media works with the president. You’ll be talking about this today. That’s all that matters. Instead of talking about the removed climate sensors, gas prices, Iran war, etc, this will be the focus that will unite people behind this program.

Just came across this graph on Norway´s adaption of EVs. I love it. Riding a motorbike in a tunnel that does not stink is a blast. Hearing the birds when cornering on an electric motorcycle in a windy forrest road is a blast. Having your own electricity (solar+batt) to charge your life is a blast.

Good way of stating it: "He has wasted the nation’s time and attention span on a festival of personal obsessions while creating a public agenda entirely out of sync with the problems our nation needs to solve".... (Dionne, NYT)

It's all about knowing what's happening to you. The censorship is in the algorithm, which again is not responsible and transparent. Let it democracies be the adult in the room

Joni Askola@joniaskola.bsky.social

Europe needs stronger social media regulation, and it has nothing to do with censorship. We just need total transparency on the algorithms. We have the right to know exactly what these platforms are pushing into our feeds and why

Proud European not impressed by this bullshit

Joni Askola@joniaskola.bsky.social

Enemies of Europe despise European regulation because it makes the continent harder to bully. By lobbying for fragmentation and deregulation, they hope to weaken the collective front. A divided Europe is a playground for foreign interests and autocrats. Unity is the target

Happily contributing to the shift. No idea where this Idea that you cannot be a proud European comes from. And btw, there are like 100+ million more Europeans than Americans, nice group of consumers with relevance for a capitalist country like the us or China, I'd think.

Shane@incompleteness.bsky.social

The whole tech sector thing - where if other countries don't subscribe to American tech services, and switch off privacy protection - has been criminal

Agreed. Unwanted aliens

Joni Askola@joniaskola.bsky.social

1/7 Palantir’s manifesto is a terrifying glimpse into tech-authoritarianism. They aren't just selling software, but dictating global morality. Who do they think they are? Who elected Alex Karp and Peter Thiel to run the world? Europe should stay away from Palantir

Back to the simple natural order of things…….. not human arrogance based on destruction of our water, air, environment for profit…… for the 1%

A decisive step for Europe’s digital future. The European Commission has awarded a €180 million, 6-year contract to European cloud providers, strengthening our capacity to manage sensitive data under EU rules. 1/2

This is significant and puts the USA in a corner of lawlessness they shouldn't want to occupy.

Mrs. Betty Bowers@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social

Today, Pamela Jo Bondi, our most recent head of the Department of Justice, is blithely ignoring a valid, legal subpoena requiring her to testify before Congress. We are not a nation of laws. We are a nation of some people can get away with anything.

This war has cost over $25 billion in its first month and may reach $200 billion (exceeding TC of many of the "forever wars" Trump criticized). The U.S. achieved massive "destroying", failed to achieve "victory" in terms of a stable, pro-Western regime or a new, permanent nuclear agreement.

It needs to be a much bigger deal that Hungary's foreign minister is treating Sergey Lavrov like his boss. Szijjártó calling Moscow during EU summits to leak intelligence and coordinate policy is pure treason. This traitor puts all of Europe at risk

If you've "chosen" for this mess, how can you get out without losing your face? If we arrive that one, a landslide might follow

California Dreamin’… 😎@jerasikehorn.bsky.social

The Republicans in his cabinet refuse to invoke the 25th Amendment… The Republicans in Congress refuse to impeach the motherfucker… And lastly, the Republicans on the SCOTUS have granted him “absolute immunity”… This nightmare continues for one reason, and one reason only… REPUBLICANS! 😎✨

Seriously. Is this really written by a president? Even if it is only to please his own groupies, it's hard to believe where this ol' man and his support team has put the bar...

“Then, gentlemen,” said Napoleon, “let us wait a little; when your enemy is executing a false movement, never interrupt him.”

People should not get their hopes up too much about Hungary. Orbán has spent years centralizing power to ensure the elections are not fair. If they were, he would lose in a landslide. Let’s hope the margin is too large to manipulate, so Europe can rid of its biggest traitor

Really. We should have focussed on Ukraine and Epstein. Maduro, Greenland, Cuba, Iran. It's just idiocy and distraction. What a mess

And they're not ready yet

Jan Rosenow@janrosenow.bsky.social

Incumbent German electricity suppliers said in 1993 that renewables could not provide more than 4% of electricity in the long run. In 2025, renewables provided 55.9% of Germany's electricity — 14 times the predicted ceiling.

This guy made himself irrelevant during his period with decision power. Next elections he was out

Joni Askola@joniaskola.bsky.social

Wilders, like any member of Patriots for Europe, is a traitor who will always side with Russia. In this case, he is helping Russia by supporting his friend Orbán

Ukraine asked US for help. Seems like Europe is paying for that now.. Maybe a negotiation point? Oh yes. Let's make US social media pay taxes in Europe on the money they make in the 440+ million European users

We don't. But we are a bit confused about the checks and balances, and wonder about the lack of visible resistance. Did the algorithms already take over?

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

Dear allies of America, Please don’t confuse our president with us. Some thoughts... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/mar/19/donald-trump-american-ally

There are several proud majors in the recently popular Northern Europe who are still thinking that a data center provides Jobs and income for their municipalities

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

"In our analysis of a long term data set of Virginia (USA) we found that it took $33 million of investment into data centres to create one job, around 400 times the cost of a job from IT investment that did not go into data centres" aprs.scot/resources/em...

What will the midterms do if oil prices rocket? Maybe the rest of the world should stay at home from trump's wars and watch the show

We need another Snowden to get to the bottom of this

Rep. Melanie Stansbury (NM-01)@repstansbury.bsky.social

Brought to you by the Admin who says “it’s not a crime to party with Mr. Epstein” … a document manifest showing 4 interviews the FBI conducted with a woman who accused the President of sexual abuse as a minor. If there’s nothing to hide, why are they hiding these documents? ⬇️
