Out today - a new role for MAIT cells. We've shown MAIT cells are antibacterial; antiviral; and promote tissue repair. In this paper from our group we show MAIT cells are recruited and activated to protect tissues in sterile lung injury, and potentially in IPF - enjoy! doi.org/10.1016/j.ce...

Completely agree @profandrewmac.bsky.social! A pleasure to work with wonderful colleagues at several institutions including @mrccmm.bsky.social, @lydiabeckeriii.bsky.social and @uoe-eid.bsky.social. Fungi are major causes of asthma but why our immune cells do this is poorly understood.

Delighted to see our study on #DendriticCell control of #fungal #allergic airway #inflammation finally out in the wild! Spearheaded by @drpetercook.bsky.social, with so many fantastic collaborators - thanks to all! #ImmunoSky 🧪 rdcu.be/d68MU @lydiabeckeriii.bsky.social @edinburgh-uni.bsky.social

To tackle this, we found fungal spores lead to both type 2 / type 17 allergic responses and that DCs & CD4+ T cells were crucial. Several single cell technologies revealed DC subsets change drastically. We show that Mgl2+ cDC2 depletion is crucial for type 2 but not type 17 allergic responses.

You are up to date.
