I’d settle for a few poorly guys and women that are smart. You need fierce people to win a war, but you also need dedicated people and most of all you need smart people.

Hegseth: "It's worth saying again so the fake news understands it. We are no longer the woke department or the weak department. Simple translation of that -- no fatties no trannies no beardos no weirdos no wimps no radicals. Just warriors."

Let me see which allies can I betray this week oh yeah, China’s offering me a 2 in 1

The New York Times@nytimes.com

News Analysis: China’s leader, Xi Jinping, used praise, warnings and wartime history to challenge the U.S.’s support for Taiwan and Japan in his talks with President Trump this week.

For me, the worst betrayer of democracy isn’t the corporations who kissed the boot, or the law firms and universities that gave in to Trump’s extortion, it’s the US media. As cynical as I already was about them, I was surprised to find I still had a faint flicker of hope that they would stand up.

So much insanity comes out of the Trump Regime it's hard to keep track, but don't forget they threatened Pope Leo's life.

I think things are really crazy now that Republicans are demanding that COVID-19 be renamed into COVID-21, so that it’s clear it’s all Joe Biden’s fault.

I have a personally delivered more than a couple of vaccinations and this is the biggest piece of garbage I’ve ever heard. It’s absolutely unconscionable that mainstream media doesn’t report delusional behavior by the president.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "At one year, you should have 5 separate visits for vaccines rather than getting them all in the same day. I've seen proof of where they have a vaccination thing that looks like the size of a bottle of soda and pour it into a little child's body."

So what he saying is that Trump has appointed (and he has voted to approve) so many incompetent people that he’s convinced the alternative to Blanche would be even worse.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Sen. Bill Cassidy: "I will vote for Mr. Blanche. I'll be criticized for this vote — what's new?"

There’s that day again, popping up all over the place. They remains undefined and whatever the demagogue wants them to be.

By the end of the interview Musk insists that more people like him than hate him. "They hate YOU," Musk tells the interviewer. "They hate YOU far more than they hate me."

I’m way past just being embarrassed by this guy. I hope people realize that this is just really infantile. Even in Russia, Putin didn’t do this.

Australian broadcaster on hot mic after Trump crashes Spain’s World Cup trophy presentation: “They’re gonna edit him out of that”

Only conservative judges in the United States could concoct a rationale for saying that a citizen has no right to consent to a recommended medical procedure themselves and that the state can take away that right.

Here is hoping that Tulsi's husband can have a good outcome. Bone tumors can be very difficult to treat. Research funding has never been generous and is even less now with the obsession with chronic disease (unspecified).

Thank you for making this statement directly to King Charles. I agree with this completely.

A woman in Harlem, New York to King Charles: "Thank you for your speech to Congress. We needed that."

Louisiana v. Callais today provides further proof that our courts afford more rights to States and to Corporations than to people.

Jerry Ford did not take political advantage of either of the two assassination attempts he endured. Ronald Reagan did not take political advantage of the bullet he took to the chest. Donald Trump began issuing political diktats within minutes of the gunman’s arrest on Saturday.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

Our Senators have spoken up about this but it certainly helps to have the President weigh in. Thank you, Mr. President. Maybe we should be bombing State Farm and not Iran...

Let me see if I understand Republicans... Gas Prices went up in 2022 because of the Ukraine war, which Biden did not start. But it was all Joe Biden's fault. Gas Prices are up in 2026 because of the Iran war which Trump started. But it is all Joe Biden's fault.

Letting your adversary dig in for several weeks before rolling in is not smart.

SCOOP: The Pentagon is preparing for weeks of ground operations in Iran, U.S. officials said, as thousands of American soldiers and Marines arrive in the Middle East for what could become a dangerous new phase of the war should President Trump escalate. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

I hate this Trump War with Iraq. I hate it but I realize that America may need a huge dose of Cisplatin-Doxorubicin to put the Trump cancer into remission.

The President said he obliterated Iran’s nuclear capability multiple times. The President has not corrected himself. Does this make the President a liar? Does this make the traditional media who fail to report this plainly, a bunch of liars as well?

At least in Pacific Palisades one year after the fire, people have been beating the drum for changing construction, so that structures can survive fire. However, the majority of structures which did survive this fire are still unoccupied and boarded up due to smoke damage.

So yes, we did build another house with wood frame, but it doesn’t do you any good if the surviving structure is still damaged by the tremendous heat.

But what would the headlines look like today given the change in editorial policy? ”Difference of Opinion at Capitol” NYT “Fraud at Polls” WaPo

NEW: Five years later, as Trump's lies continue, the danger of the January 6 insurrection remains. An offensive White House web site of lies is an apt anniversary marker — not just of where Trump is but of where the many institutional failures to stop him have led us. Tonight, at Law Dork:

Merry Christmas to The Prince of Peace From the future winner of the Nobel Peace Prize!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on Christmas: “Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria.”

All hail our wonderful speaker, Sergeant Schultz.

RAJU: Last week you were very critical of Biden's use of the autopen. But Trump admitted on 60 Minutes to not knowing he pardoned a crypto billionaire who pleaded guilty to money laundering. Does that also concern you? MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know anything about that. I didn't see it. I'm not sure.

Of course it took me two weeks to think of this argument...

Mike Johnson tries to reframe his move to keep the House out to avoid a vote on the Epstein files as a "responsible decision" so Republicans can "work" in their districts
