Howdy! π Iβm Eliza, full-time cartoonist and full-time cartoon character currently working on The Patrick Star Show! ππ¦ If I'm not drawing cartoons, I'm watching, writing or talking about them! I love all that is kitschy!
Art for the year will be linked in replies! β¬οΈ
Thanks fer stopping by! π¦ππ§½π
Was reminded of this amazing memory; We were all walking back from a group photo in front of the 'Looney Tunes Cartoons' billboard on the WB lot, saw a tour tram and I told the guys "You HAVE to do this, you're all here, when are you ever gonna get a chance like this?" and it made that tour's day!
Iβm completely shellshocked and can barely even begin to think. Eric Bauza was always so sweet and encouraging to me in all the times we talked together, heβd leave such kind encouraging comments on my art and knew I loved his Daffy enough to sing happy birthday to me in his voice.
Any time I'd compliment his art (which he was really, *REALLY* good at) he'd just volley it right back to me. I didn't even get to meet him in person or work with him and yet just in our interactions together you knew he loved not only his characters, but just all of cartoondom in general
I'm not trying to make it about me or brag, moreso just show how much he's touched me even as an outsider. Just relentlessly uplifting and kind. I keep repeating myself because I have no words, and I feel like I should but I don't. But thank you Eric, I hope to keep making you proud in any capacity

Iβd been hoping for years to meet him in person and thank him for all of his kindness and properly gush over his work. Years ago he offered to commission me to design some art for his clothing line, it didnβt end up going very far but he was so sweet and encouraging. I was so sure Iβd meet him
I *just* found out so Iβm completely shellshocked and donβt know what else to say that wouldnβt sound vapid or dumb. But he is one of the kindest people Iβve had the pleasure of βmeetingβ and seemed as enthusiastic to interact with me as I him, which I never understood but am so grateful for.
Got back from the Elizabeth Holmes doc and it was wonderful. I don't know how I'm supposed to resume any of my daily activities though after what I just saw. Like I'm supposed to just go about my day? After that?
One of my fav clips of Mel Blanc. You almost canβt believe that sound is actually coming out of that guyβs face. You can literally hear his voice echo off the walls of that set. The other scream he does after this clip is also insane if you can find it online.
I know for a fact I clipped this tiny segment from a Jack Benny Show skit some time ago but couldn't find it so I had to clip it all over again.
Sometimes you see some bullshit & you just have to scream, "NOW WHAT!?!?!?" like this appearance from Mel Blanc as a burnt-out customer service employee.
I've been watching every single golden age cartoon I can possibly find because 1) there's something wrong with me 2) I love expanding my mental library to further me in my cartooning endeavors and 3) I get to catalogue stuff like this. Reuse from a whole different studio entirely!
From Mama's New Hat, Feb 1939 and Porky's Last Stand, Jan 1940. I'm VERY very used to the animation reuse in the WB cartoons, especially the Clampetts (this is reused again in The Hep Cat), but it was enjoyably shocking to discover this when I was casually watching the former
Drew this a few years ago when it was all the rage to draw characters into Hot Ones: Daffy would be charmingly obnoxious, gesticulating and being a pest, he keeps flicking hot sauce everywhere and it lands in Sean Evansβ eye and then Daffy is permanently banned from Hot Ones. Yes thatβs real poultry
Daffy often characterized as an insatiable mooch in the comics especially + existing to satiate his impulses + not the best track record in terms of his regard for others + charismatic lackadaisy makes him a believable and unconditional candidate for bird on bird cannibalism to me. I just feel it
Recently found a lobby card for one of my VERY favorite cartoons that I've been hunting for YEARS... buuuut the quality left a lot to be desired, so I cleaned it up/interpreted it to ogle at it with maximum efficiency.
I really love this version of Daffy where he's like Porky's little puppy dog that follows him everywhere. Ignoring that he tries to brutally slaughter a calf in this cartoon
More Patrick Show premieres coming up at 6pm! TONIGHT - "Patrick Alone⦠At Home/Seagull Scout Adventures". 10/12 - "Scary Tales" (at 5:30pm). 10/23 - "Patrick Show Reunion/Toilet Training". 10/30 - "Squidina and the Brain/Day of the Snail". Don't miss them! #SpongeBob
I said it was a good marketing tactic and sure enough, when I passed by about 10 minutes later, there was a family looking at it on the ground and the kid petting the coyote calling it a doggy
I've always had a ferocious love of this song number (if you can even call it that) because of its anti-humor (if you can even call it *that*), but I love it 10,000x more ever since learning the pig is voiced by Tex Avery. Bob McKimson's acting on the horse gets me each time
There's a common sentiment of "I wonder how [celebrity] would react to seeing [caricature]"... but I really do wonder how Andy Devine felt about this lol
And just some more miscellaneous drawings I like to end out on here 'n the post below! It's always a joy getting to work off of Andy and Miggs' drawings, the ability to just draw *funny* is one I admire so much
Watching a Laurel and Hardy short where Stan is instructed to serve salad undressed (with no dressing) and takes it literally Amelia Bedelia style. That in itself is hilarious, but the shots of him just grabbing fistfuls of lettuce and tossing it on people's plates with that expression is SO GOOD
Also love this Swedish poster for Way Out West... and the fact that these all have obligatory sultry (comparatively) women on them. Very charming very funny
