Way to go California! California just closed another door on outside military deployments. Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 1354, which blocks other states from sending their military forces into California without the Governor’s permission.

The law targets a loophole that could have allowed another state’s National Guard to enter California under Title 32, including at the President’s request. After what happened in Los Angeles, California is making it very clear who gets to authorize military deployments inside the state.
