That's an absolutely absurd decision from the referee. That's a horrid, scissors challenge on him. And Dowman basically shoves the dude as he's wrapped around his ankles.

Fleetwood have been permitted to be extraordinarily physical all match with Arsenal. That guy put in a potentially leg breaking challenge. Nothing given for that. But the Arsenal man gets sent off for being upset that he's nearly had his leg broken by some League Two nobody.

I am still fuming about that whole sequence... Dowman got kicked several times before and in that sequence too. That was purposely violent challenge on Dowman. And after him lashing out, they ganged up on 16yo. And ref did f all all game to do anything about it, but was happy to send Max off.

It basically happened. We are very lucky Max (and Eze) weren’t hurt. The referee was utterly irresponsible. I have never understood why player safety isn’t more important, actually paramount, to the football organizations in the UK.

Ref clearly made his mind up before kickoff on which team was gonna get away with what.
