This. Spending yesterday morning updating PHP runtimes and Docker containers in order to solve a problem that LLM companies "helped discover" is awfully insulting when you remember that the reason these bugs are a problem at scale is due to script-kiddies weaponizing them with LLM generated code.

The AI companies claiming they helped find the latest php vulnerability feels a lot like a burglar trying every door in your building and claiming it’s for your protection. I don’t think the average person has any idea how much time is being spent keeping AI-enabled bad actors at bay.

Saw You Can See Everything in a packed theatre on a Monday night. Yay, for live experiences. My mind is still spinning.

A Microsoft executive called “an astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions,” and the “largest theft of labor in human history.” An internal Microsoft document said generative AI products have created a “doom loop” that is killing “the entire web.” www.404media.co/doom-loop-op...

404media.co‘Doom Loop’: OpenAI and Microsoft Admits LLMs Are Destroying the Web and Built on Theft"Millions of people around the world will soon consider large models ‘hoovering up’ all their work to be an astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions."

Until this changes, the MLS will always remain a "lesser" football league, no matter how many top-quality players they can import from across the Atlantic. Kudos to Eullaffroy and Fraser for simply saying what we've all been thinking, match after match. #cfmontreal #cfmtl #mls

If we keep going with this format, perhaps we will get to the point where playoffs start on opening day, each team plays the others an equal number of times, and the team with the most wins gets the title. 😜

MLS is planning a major overhaul of its playoff system that would see 20 teams participate in a double-elimination format, according to The Guardian. #MLS #TFCLive #VWFC #CFMTL ✍️ @vancouverinsider.bsky.social has the details

This feels like exactly what the "Net Benefit" test was designed for, no? Canada has a long history of foolishly allowing key home-owned or home-grown technologies to be sold to US interests. Surely in 2026 stopping this sale is a no-brainer.

Daily reminder: the generative AI business is entirely built on the theft of your ideas.

Scoop: The AI music generator Suno was hacked. Hacker shared source code that shows how the tool was made and part of the music and podcasts that were scraped to create it. Decades worth of music, lyrics, and podcasts from YouTube, Deezer, Genius & more www.404media.co/hack-reveals...

As usual, it's either “we need this to protect you against the dangerous terrorists” or “will someone please think of the children?”. (This cartoon is at least 20 years old, by the way. Some things just don't change. People fall for it every time.)

An economic strategy isn’t about tools - it’s about products and services and sectors. AI to make what? AI for what purpose? If you can’t answer those questions, there’s no strategy. If you have an economic strategy and the tools are good, adoption will be organic. Solve the right problem.
