We welcome @john-haug.bsky.social to the E11 Team! John received his PhD in EE from the U of Notre Dame on super-resolution imaging techniques and did his postdoc at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Kevin Dean’s lab, where he worked with advanced microscope systems.

Last week we hosted our largest neuro event yet at Deep Tech Week! Neuro is heating up with large philanthropic and venture investments into next generation brain-computer interfaces, biohybrids, and neuro-inspired AI!

We welcome Madelynn Isbrecht to the @E11BIO team as Research Associate! Madelynn earned her BS in Neuroscience from University of Michigan, where she worked in Dawen Cai's lab on tissue clearing, hydrogels, immunostaining, and advanced microscopy.

Welcoming Jeff Rhoades to the team as our newest Machine Learning Scientist! Jeff did his PhD at Harvard studying cerebellar circuits using electron microscopy and ML–based segmentation. He contributed to the connectome of the mouse cerebellar cortex and then joined Janelia on the CellMap project.

Earlier this year, we welcome two stellar scientists to the E11 team! Andrew Champion is a computational neuroscientist with background in image processing, machine learning, high performance computing, etc. He was previously at Janelia where he contributed to several fly connectome datasets. 1/2

Evan Murray comes from the Broad Institute where he developed faster labeling of large samples for optical microscopy and novel techniques for spatial transcriptomics. 2/2

Proud of @e11bio.bsky.social's early progress here, and excited for so much more to come (that I've seen previews of as a FRO board member 😍). Optics + expansion + barcoding + AI + molecules = beginning of infinity for scalable brain circuit mapping, with wide implications across science.
