To be clear: - this is for "discoverable" servers, large ones that are not private and can already be joined from discord's in-app server browser (like official game discords) - discord aims to make a basic, google-searchable webpage for each of these, and needs them to have a summary

So Discord plans on allowing Google to read and make your discord messages public and searchable within Google. You can opt out. Open Discord. Go into your Settings> Data & Privacy and turn off "Show mybl message content from Discoversble channels on web pages. This shit is bananas #discord

- the summary from these servers will pull messages from that server to serve as "here is an example of what goes on in here" - server admins can opt out of that message pulling on a server- and channel-level - users can opt out entirely with the mentioned toggle
