For the first time in literally months I finished painting a mini! The first model of my dreadnoughts only WH40K army is done 😁 They're a Blood Angel successor chapter, this is Venerable Brother Rante McDante

City on Fire and Reservoir Dogs. After a lot of accusations of plagiarism, Tarantino came out in 95 and said he loved City on Fire and that RD was an homage, rather than a rip off, although several scenes are straight up lifted from the original. Ringo Lam said he wasn't bothered though πŸ˜…

Name 2 films w the Same Plot.

Agent Kim Reactivated! It's a very silly action show about a former North Korean agent turned South Korean assassin who has to beat up a ton of dudes when his daughter gets kidnapped. It's often funny, sometimes sad, the action sequences are decent, the plot is nonsense. On Netflix.

name a tv show you are currently binging.

Crazy Samurai Musashi or 1 vs 400 as it was on Prime in the UK, is a Samurai film that is 74 minutes of a single tracking shot with a guy fighting the same, recycled extras constantly. Objectively it's not a great movie but as a technical production it's amazing and you should watch it

Sophia_Nyx 🐰@sophianyx.bsky.social

Name a bad film who's production you find fascinating

Amongst all the posts about the closure of Bioware, it is really apparent that not nearly enough people played Jade Empire.

When I was young I had no idea how badly made American cars are and as such, thought this was the coolest car ever made. I mean it's still cool, just wouldn't get driven quite as much as my civic πŸ˜…

What was the first car you ever dreamed of owning, and do you still want one today?

One of the reasons the French protest like this isn’t because French police is more lenient than elsewhere, it isn’t, French police is absolutely brutal and uses weapons the other EU nations have banned The big difference is the sense of community, never playing it solo & creating a societal block

I find it fascinating that to this day, if you search Hard Boiled in a gif search you get way more clips of A Better Tomorrow 2 than actual Hard Boiled (Which is still a great movie, but not as good).

Name your fav 90s film.

Quote your art with fire on!

Quote your art with fire on πŸ”₯ Oh ho Skull has something for this! I really enjoy painting Salamanders

Oh, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, when they arrive by boat in England and Robin says "Ah, Dover. We'll be at my father's estate by nightfall" when clearly they're in Seaford in Sussex and won't be walking the 200 miles to Loxley by dusk

Maybe not that niche but every time I watch a movie where someone is on a horse holding a lance with their hand behind the wide bit rather than resting it against their shoulder I wonder how they don't shatter their wrist on impact, or indeed do any damage with it...

Either the bit at the end of Sonierre prison in Suikoden or the bit before they first get on the boat in Expedition 33, when the Gommage happens

My Halloween costume arrived. My mate said I was a monster when I told him I needed to practice the shakes to really pull it off

Ok so yes, I do like AK Interactive scenic paints and the like but joke's on you, Amazon, I'm making bases, not scenery pieces.

Why Don't YouTube?@whydontyoutube.bsky.social

40 YEARS AGO TODAY: "'ello!" The first of forty visits to the cellar of the monster's castle that features The Trap Door, by association the glory of a Willie Rushton voiceover, and the stop-motion skill of future Wallace & Gromit co-director Steve Box.

Genuinely terrifying when there was somebody at the door and it was Grotbags. In my defence this was when I was actual young, like pre-school age πŸ˜…

Apparently today is International Coffee Day, which is nonsense as EVERY DAY is coffee day, but thank you to all the Keywords players who have bought me coffees over the last few months. My current brew of choice is a 1:1 mix of Illy Classic and Intenso beans together.

Truth and Reconciliation day is a serious day and not a joking matter. That said I do really want to make several posts asking when Silent Cartographer Day is

I went to an equinox sauna ceremony this evening, for about two hours. I think I've sweated out the residue of a good 35 years of substance abuse and my sinuses have never felt clearer 🀣

A police officer brought a sniffer dog in "to show us all how friendly they were" and let it loose to meet everyone. Half the teachers quietly slipped out and the dog went straight to the kid we all bought weed off and sat down next to him. Didn't see him in school for a while after that...

Incredibly late to the party but I just watched the Amazon He-Man movie and it's utterly brilliant. Very silly, totally camp, loads of subtle nods to the cartoons and first movie and just daft fun. We need more movie adaptations that don't take themselves seriously

I really wonder why marketing people still think advertising oon streaming services is a good idea. If your ad interrupted my YouTube video, I'm less likely to buy your stuff, not more. Seems like a really expensive way to drive customers away πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Get Henry Cavill involved. The Doctor finds himself sometime in the 300th century on an obscure backwater planet called Istvaan III...

Not Warhammer Wednesday, which of course means Burrows and Badgers. I've not actually played it for years but the minis are still very dear to my heart

Not Warhammer Wednesday - taking pics on non-GW stuff from my collection. The first stuff I did when getting back into the hobby was the DnD board games.

As someone who owns both a sword and a (decent enough for a bonfire costume replica) flintlock pistol, I can heartily recommend this post.

Tokyo Sexwhale@tokyosexwhale.bsky.social

My partner is going through a phase of dragging me around antique shops. I never realised how much I covertly crave owning a pistol, a sword, or a cigar-chomping monkey.
