Periodically, our University staff (professional and academic) renegotiates with management our Enterprise Agreement, a key document which lays out work conditions for the next years. Bargaining is currently at an impasse: this is why I'll be, along with my fellow uni staff, on strike tomorrow.

Our paper on fractals in r-tipping has been published today as Chaos 36, 083122 (2026) doi.org/10.1063/5.03... Many improvements over the pre-print, thanks to the very helpful comments by the editor and reviewers from Chaos @aip-publishing.bsky.social

"Fractals in rate-induced tipping", new pre-print with Jason Qianchuan Wang and Yi Zheng. We show how fractal saddles in the phase space of non-linear dynamical systems lead to fractals in the parameter space controlling rate-induced tipping points. arxiv.org/abs/2601.16373

New preprint up, led by Joy (Qiping) Yang and Yash Pote, with Jonathan Scarlett: we consider a relaxation of the standard (distribution) closeness testing task, where the algo now only needs to distinguish between p=q (equal) and |H(p)-H(q)|=Ω(1) (their entropies differ). 📝 arxiv.org/abs/2605.23225
