If you are a pensioner on <£35k/year you get winter fuel payments. So @naturalengland.bsky.social, how can you justify paying <£35k to someone with experience in line management, leading projects, ML/DL, coding, DB's, large scale data etc etc? www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk/csr/jobs.cgi...

The gulf between the scientists doing science on this, and everyone else screaming about it, is massive. I see it as a case of the boy who cried wolf. If you spend every other day hating Musk for doing something menial then nobody will care when he actually does one of his genuinely evil things
Earlier today, the discarded upper stage of a Falcon 9 rocket impacted on the Moon. As part of a coordinated observing campaign, our Very Large Telescope detected spectral lines of sodium and lithium gas in the impact plume lasting for 5-10 minutes after impact. 🔭 🧪 📷 ESO/C. Schmidt et al. 1/4

I'm always caught out by the reasons that people like or dislike politicians. Just had someone who said they don't like Farage because he's planning to bring in tax breaks for parents with more than 2 kids. Which honestly I don't even think that is a policy?
My strongest political belief is that anyone denying or downplaying the risk of climate change should be exiled to an island somewhere www.france24.com/en/europe/20...
