What I wrote about Gavin Newsom a year ago is never more applicable to several Democrats today. I foresaw this coming, and I continue to hold this true.

"if he's protective of his phone that's sus" is the most frightening piece of monogamous neurosis that i have encountered more than once. like sometimes u get a taste of how the other side lives and its scary

A Florida man was found dead in his home during a welfare check in July 2022. Weeks later, one of the officers who discovered his body moved into the home and spent years impersonating him, according to investigators.

DAAAAANG, dude got shredded in the most polite and classy way one can do so.

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

Watching pretty much all the people I usually agree with mass-hallucinate a drop in Russian trollbot activity — when the evidence shows nothing of the sort — has been incredibly disheartening. It is further killing my hopes that things will ever improve.

"But the data said there was a drop in bot activity!" Yeah. Web crawler bots. That work with search engines. Not trollbots. Not bots that engage with social media and spread misinformation. Search engine web crawlers. They got Russian Google.

PSA: If someone who is disabled or chronically ill tells you how difficult something is, and your response is to say that it's difficult for everyone — you're an ableist dick. Being disabled or chronically ill yourself does not exempt you from this.

Seeing all these politicians campaigning right now, talking about investing in the police to “make ppl feel safer” — I’d feel safer walking past a guy shooting up or tagging a wall or panhandling than walking past a cop 🤷

Things that suck about being autistic #3758: Almost having a panic attack, and now having to lay in bed because my chest feels like it's going to cave in from it — all because the smoke alarm started beeping once a minute to signify its battery is dying. Sound sensitivity sucks.

Just a reminder that when Dems turn against trans people for power, it's also a reminder that they'll do other things for power that you might not like too, such as supporting billionaires.

Gavin Newsom backs measure to kill the billionaire tax and ban future wealth taxes Gov. Gavin Newsom isn't just fighting the billionaire tax. He's backing Prop. 42, which would ban future wealth taxes in California, too.

I haven't had a drink in almost 2 years, but I really, really want to get drunk right now. (To clarify, I am not a recovering alcoholic or anything, I just have untreated chronic health issues that make drinking a bad idea. I will not do it, I just want to because depression is extra suffocating.)

I guess I'm not at all surprised, which is why I have never claimed the Democratic party. I've seen the way they treat other vulnerable people – the homeless, Palestinians, and the many people who fall through the cracks of their policies. Even trans folks.

I'm really sad y'all. I did not go into trans journalism to make "Dem capitulates on trans rights" my daily beat. It was a much better environment when I could count on everyone in our party, even the red state dems, to present a wall on this stuff. It just feels so bleak.

I'm not going to cast my vote for somebody who uses me as a token, then supports policies that harm me and other marginalized people. It's no surprise that they are being open about it now. I'm sorry to those who feel betrayed by the Democrats — but the signs have always been there.

To be clear, I will still support and vote for individual candidates who don't act like this. They exist. It's not every Democrat. But it is a cancer pervasive through the whole party. If that's ever going to change, it needs to be vocally called out by other Democrats and everyone else.

I've watched how they've promised us protections to get votes, passed performative laws that don't get actually enforced (which I've experienced first hand), and used us for their convenience. Not every Democrat, but a great many, with few supposed allies speaking out about it.

This is a really good take. I don't talk about AI a lot on here because it's one of those topics that, regardless of which 'side' you're on, almost no one can have a sane or reasonable discussion about it. I'm glad to see that there are a few people out there who are, indeed, doing just that.

There is a lot of doom in the air around the twin existential threats of AI and climate change. Can we use this moment of rapid infrastructure expansion to kickstart our transition to clean energy? My full conversation with climate tech expert Steph Speirs is live on YouTube now!

This Wednesday, Elon Musk called for the death sentence for transgender youth care providers. It was in reply to a post calling for full criminalization of all gender-affirming surgery. Musk is becoming even more radicalized in targeting trans people. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Hey everyone, I'm really in a bind. I was just told earlier today that my job will be terminating me on October 13th, exactly one day before my upcoming requested paid medical leave to recover from bottom surgery. I intend to fight this in court, but I could really use some help in the meantime.

And don't assume that just because someone's popular or has a big following or a lot of success that they don't feel this way. Popularity and success can feel very isolating and alienating sometimes. Remember, creators or human beings too.

Too many talented creators out here hating their own work, doubting themselves, getting imposter syndrome, feeling like they're never good enough. Take the time to relieve them of these illusions if you get the opportunity. Don't be overbearing, but do remind them once in awhile.
