It always comes back to this for me; if AI was so good, such a disclosure would be a selling point. If AI was everything these slop jockeys said it was, they should be proud to let people know their game was AI made. But the proof is in the pudding, and they can't stand that people don't want it.

I can't believe he's still at it, it's been days

Leveraged buyouts shouldn't be legal. Loading a company with $18 billion of debt it didn't have before is going to destroy every EA company

This means that the increased price of RAM and consumer electronics was a result of an artificial "supply chain crisis" created by Jensen Huang pushing NVIDIA's customers to take early delivery of GPUs. Jensen Huang is responsible for making life worse for everyone.

Ed Zitron@edzitron.com

NVIDIA seems to be channel stuffing, forcing Amazon and other customers to take early delivery. The argument that these things are "scarce" when you don't even have anywhere to plug them into is nonsense...unless NVIDIA is saying you NEED to take them now, or else. GPUs are stacked in warehouses.

You can always support our project by pre-ordering SlimeVR Butterfly Trackers. They are on final stage of production. We are historicly have financial struggles, but we pay not only to our devs, but also to contributors who's changes got merged. (Β΄ο½₯α΄—ο½₯ ` ) slimevr.dev/smol Thank you all for support!

at some point "AI is not the problem users are" peoples are gonna have to face the fact that if a tool is designed to encourage peoples to use it irresponsibly then the tool is the problem too

Yes we rewriting whole SlimeVR server to improve interface, and fix math, also to make more reliable architecture. Yes, we doing it by hand, no ai. In this economy. Ai can burn, we wont sell our values for minor momental improvement in dev speed with huge tradeoff on quality. ₍ᐒ.Λ¬.α’β‚Žβ™‘~

0 days since a supplier sent me an AI generated email... if you didn't bother writing a fucking email I shouldn't be bothered to read it.

I'm so tired I'm genuinely looking forward to 12 hours on a plane to Japan without internet, just sitting, sleeping, listening to music in noise cancelling headphones

i did a sleep schedule and the doctors basically went "idk man it looks like your circadian rhythm is 25 hours long good luck lol"

aw apparently "hormone cycles so shifted that your natural sleep time is 4AM-noon since you were a teenager and there's nothing you can do to change that" isn't just something unique to me, it has its own name en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed...

I love anthropomorphizing stuff, but I think we should not anthropomorphize LLMs. the closest thing we made that sounds like human shouldn't be mistaken with one, I'm very serious, don't get delusional. It's not cute. you're not torturing it. it's a fucking random story generator.

Gonna go out on a limb and suggest the loudest voices in the tech industry have very little grasp of the variety and complexity of the world outside their own industry, with a side dish of not understanding that to most people step one in furniture shopping is not "buy a CNC router and lathe"

have been playing Octopath Traveler 0 with my wife @polymoria.bsky.social in bed the last few days, it's a single player game, so we're just playing in parallel. so comfy and chill πŸ₯°

Tell me something positive Have you played a neat game lately, watched any cool movies, read books, done art, whatever brought you some joy and comfort.

it's not important in the grand scheme of things, but I'm sad about the state of foldable phones. it looks like I once again found my Note 9 phone and there will never be a new one that isn't worse. I'm stuck on Galaxy Z Fold6 for the next 5 years probably... then I make my own πŸ˜”

Both Anthropic and OpenAI should face criminal action for felony hacking. We put people in jail for hacking, including people who use scripts. This is not a complex moral, ethical or legal situation, and the only difference is that they're doing it in public and boasting about it

they're infogolems. they're language elementals. they're corporate thoughtforms. they're not people

also web writers who think thst using AI images as cover somehow better than using LLMs to write books... I'm just so tied of genai can we please fucking explode it already as a whole, the world was genuinely way better without it. you can continue making bigger iPhones instead

Eiren Rain@eiren.io

idk why a lot of people decided that making code with AI is somehow morally better than making images with AI, looking at you @basisvr.org

Not only can you be a girl if you want 2, completely separate from this (I have an essay I'm working on 2 elaborate): You can be a lesbian If you look at lesbians and think "I wish that was me, I don't know about being a woman, I don't know how 2 be a woman, but I wish I was a lesbian" YOU CAN BE

as we enter into a new era of internet censorship, it is your solemn duty to break the egg prime directive. do it constantly. tell everyone. tell them again. tell them about estrogen and about T. I made it to my mid-teens before I even knew what transition was. let’s not go back to that.

When anarchists say that the police are an occupying force that exists to promote the interests of the ruling class via threats of violence, liberals often scoff and present their idealised view of the police. But behaviour such as this cannot be understood any other way.

Dover is one of the most heavily policed places in the UK. It's a two hour's drive from London, where the Met has more significant anti-crowd capacity than any other force in the UK. Letting a group of fascists act as they see fit is a choice they have made One they don't make for peaceful protest

honestly we could probably cut down on normal cloud datacenters too. the internet was supposed to be decentralized. buy a computer

got blocked by the paint net developer for calling out his slop praise... this app is wild

Nah dude, it still doesn't work, except you spent 10 household's yearly energy consumption on the slop machine and there is no chance for any human or AI to make it actually work from this state... πŸ€• had so much respect for you, and now that...

I've gotten guff over my stance against this kinda monetisation, but I've been incredibly stubborn about it and I'm still not streaming, recommending, or otherwise promoting any games with predatory monetisation practices, I don't care if everyone's moved on or accepted it.

headfallsoff@headfallsoff.com

you would think the normalisation of live service stuff, lootboxes and battle-passes in everything, check in daily for your ACE PASS REWARDS etc would make me begrudgingly accept it as the cost of doing business but i've gone the other way. i never wanna deal with this stuff in a game again
