I don’t want to be a trad wife or a boss bitch, I want to be a schlubby funny guy married to a Type A over-achieving hot woman who is always fondly exasperated with me.

A lot of YCSE criticism seems to boil down to “it is irresponsible to make art that most people are too dumb to understand.”

I’m not sure you can fully understand YCSE unless you’ve worked in tech, yes the movie isn’t really about Holmes and we all know enough about guys like Evans (unfortunately) to be familiar with the archetype, but if you’ve been immersed in tech circles it just adds another layer to it.

It is absolutely shocking to me the extent to which most people simply believe everyone is always telling the truth, and in some circles it seems to be considered a sort of moral imperative to behave as if you are a credulous fool, like it’s mean to point out when someone is clearly lying.

At the voting place casting my futile, irrelevant, ceremonial vote for Talarico, the trans betrayer of last resort. Immune from center libs yelling at me for another year.

Honestly I can’t remember a point in my childhood where I wasn’t both sexualised and told I was failing in my role as a sexual object

I think most every woman has the experience of gently telling a friend she was indeed raped after listening to her say “I wouldn’t say I was raped” before describing being raped.

Yeah. I had to be told explicitly by a hundred friends in the replies that what I experienced was sexual assault.

Also every woman in all my social media feeds has been talking about nothing but the Cornell case for two days, and nearly all the men are just talking about whatever they always do, we truly live in two different worlds.

Reading my 5yo Pippi Longstocking, and realizing with growing annoyance that Pippi is just a manic pixie dream girl.

the whole thing of being open-minded isn’t saying all viewpoints are equally valid, it’s subjecting them all to equal scrutiny then rejecting the ones that are evil or backwards or stupid

being properly open-minded doesn’t mean shrugging every time you encounter a fucked up viewpoint and saying you guess it takes all kinds. it means interrogating the viewpoints you encounter and deciding whether they’re fucked up. being thoughtful and interested but ultimately making a firm call

“Mama, I see that the baby is finally momentarily content and you have briefly closed your eyes. Therefore, I shall now flail about in your lap, whining and punching.” — my 5yo

Instagram could never figure out the politics of my finsta, showing me a bizarre mix of content across the political map. Until I reported an ad for the Navy as a call to violence, and now the algorithm is Aware.

Me: “Hmm if this situation goes on for much longer it could get a little frustrati—“ My 5yo: already issuing forth an ear-splitting, unceasing banshee wail

I mean, I was definitely there, but I wasn’t having any fun at all, if that helps.

kids today are literally confused about whether "partying" was real or an urban legend

What they don’t tell you about having children is how several times a day for the rest of your life, you will have a sudden stray thought about something bad happening to one of your children and will immediately go ice cold with fear and despair and need to puke. Still worth it.

It’s minor compared to all the other horrors but one really frustrating thing about being alive in 2026 is always having flax seeds stuck to the bottoms of your feet.

It’s such a relief when all 40 of the kids’ finger and toenails are for once clipped, and so exhausting to know it will last at most a week.

I always wondered why moms’ voices were so blastingly loud in all scenarios; now I realize it gets that way from constantly trying to get the attention of someone who is resolutely ignoring you.

in america you have to go to the polls and vote for a rapist on purpose or else everyone will get mad at you. american democracy, the greatest system on earth

There’s some sort of weird online campaign because I am seeing old white people all over reiterating this exact talking point, as if this lady took her baby with her to ambush a drug cartel.

I AM regularly irritated by how much my kids intrude on my “staring at my phone” time. “Go away, children. Mama’s watching her horrors.”

I want “Ms. Rachel moms” to become the new demographic nobody can afford to ignore. I would follow Ms. Rachel into war.

Ms. Rachel is an absolute hero. A warrior for humanity facing down an army of soulless demons.

Some right wing dark money org put out an anti-trans ad attacking Talarico and it's clear the training data for the LLM has been trained on god knows how many no-budget webseries from the 2010s because it somehow set the video output in Champions studios

I’m so privileged that I can’t really complain about this too too much, but I would kind of like married people to stop acting like they’re running a marathon while saving the world whenever they “solo parent” because their partner is out of town for a week.

But if I WERE ever to complain about my situation, I would say that when it comes to taking two kids to festivals and food park playgrounds and pool parties all the long hot summer, I NEVER get to have a drink because I am always driving.

Like it’s sometimes difficult being a single mom of two even with lots of help, but whenever I’m tempted to act like I’m amazing for it, I think of all the single moms with no money and no help and five or more kids and I just kind of…keep it to myself?

There’s this Dad on Instagram who I really like, but he has to full-time “solo parent” one active toddler because his wife is ill and he acts like he’s surviving a full out war every single day, first ever to do it. Sir.

Ok, but this is actually the most relatable thing he regularly does; I’ve never made it through a 3pm Zoom without having to turn off my camera.

One thing I love about a jogging habit is I’m now fit enough to outrun a predator, provided it chased me for exactly 30 minutes at a consistent 3mph pace over flat terrain, and I had my earbuds.

There’s nothing on Earth I’d rather stare at than my baby’s beautiful face, except for my phone. Leave me alone, baby.

My hot opinion is that instead of trying to sell their userbases on “AI” as a standalone feature just because they themselves are so excited about it, tech companies should deploy the technology in simple integrated ways that make their product and their customers’ lives better.

"According to Velloso, less than 3% of paying users actively use Copilot, even though Microsoft has pre-deployed it directly into the Windows 11 taskbar and across the Office suite." lol, lmfao

“Here’s an AI tool you have to learn to use and are going to have a strong reaction to that can now do the thing for you” vs “the product has just magically done the thing for you, you don’t need to know how.”
