All the places we expected them to spend the last week of this campaign at the start of this year.

I worry about the strategy depending so much on 'affordability'. it's not like, if Dems win the midterms, they are going to be able to just magically arrest inflation and get us back to happy happy joy joy time. my concern is that we may have 2 more years of pain and voters penalize Dems in 2028.

at this point, the most effective way to influence the outcome of the election is to motivate your right-minded friends/family to vote. that is, to motivate those whom you suspect (or know) might not otherwise vote. every success geometrically amplifies your vote (2x, 3x, 4x, etc).

I just remembered that last night, while I was reading in bed before sleep, a barred owl hoot-squawked loudly just outside my open window, scaring the bejesus out of me. s/he hooted only once. it was almost like: 'hey buddy, I just need you to know I see you and ... if I could, I would.'
